Creating Waves of Awareness
I would like to hear thoughts on the correlation between the Four Temperaments of Traditional Greek Medicine and our Constitutionals of Homeopathy?
I will start by saying that Lycopodium must indeed be the Melancholic temperament in nature.
Thank you.

Permalink Reply by Hans Weitbrecht on May 13, 2012 at 8:23am Constitution is of no concern in homeopathy, as it is not disease, nor disease expression. there is no exact definition of constitutions or temperaments, so why being concerned about this?
Permalink Reply by Edward Meiggs MHSc on May 13, 2012 at 11:12am I was taught the importance of individual constitutions as being vital for returning one to homeostasis after treating disease. Hahnemann teaches this as well as the assessment of temperament.
In the Chronic Diseases Hahnemann pointed out that the physical constitution, the mental temperament, hereditary dispositions, habits, lifestyle as well as environmental factors like diet are the most important conditioning factors in the symptoms of the miasms.
"The awakening of the internal Psora which has hitherto slumbered and been latent, and, as it were kept bound by a good bodily constitution and favorable external circumstances, as well as its breaking out into more serious ailments and maladies, is announced by the increase of the symptoms given above as indicating the slumbering Psora, and also by a numberless multitude of various other signs and complaints. These are varied according to the difference in the bodily constitution of a man, his hereditary disposition, the various errors in his education and habits, his manner of living and diet, his employment, his turn of mind, his morality, etc.
This is but just one example.
Permalink Reply by Hans Weitbrecht on May 14, 2012 at 3:50pm As new research shows, Hahnemann did not use temperaments or constitution as a decisive for the selection of the remedy. we haven't found any entry in DF2 and DF5.
Likewise, the momenta referred to in par.: 5 do not form part of the disease symptom picture.
It can well be, that whoever your teacher was has never studied homeopathy from the originals, or even studied one of Hahnemann's case books. Only through comparing the theory (organon) with the practical application (journals) can we see the full picture and don't have to rely on theory what the one or the other paragraph in the Organon exactly implies.
