Case – Vomiting of Pregnancy
Name- Mrs Chetna sawant
Age- 25 yrs
Sex- F
Regd no- 818

Date of First Visit- 21/12/09

Physical Symptoms:-

-Pregnant 4th month, (second pregnanay)
-Vomiting, 2-3 vomits per day, more at early morning and night
-Vomiting of watery content.
-Desire to vomit by her finger but unable to perform.
-Excessive saliva which dribbles out early morning, quantity of saliva is so much that she has to keep a bucket with her.
-Stool- sever constipation, hard stool , has to exert preassure, brown black in colour.
-Thirst- decreased only 2-3 glass of water per day.
-Sweat- Decreased
-Apettite- Decreased only 1-2 chapati’s at a time.

All physical symptoms appeares only during pregnancy.

-All these complaints were also present in her first pregnancy also for which she took allopathic medicines with no results. She took allopathic treatment this time also but with no relief.

Am I correct?.

Cured case of psoriasis of 40 years standing.

A man, 58 years old came to me in 2005, suffering from psoriasis of 40 years standing, which had failed to yield all allopathic treatment.

His entire body and limbs were covered in a thick red scale, which itched so much at night that in his sleep he would scratch himself till he bled and each morning his sheets would be red with blood. He is an alcoholic beer drinker and he often began his day with a beer.

Upon enquiry he told me that his psoriasis had begun when he was a little child but then was not very severe and would disappear by itself to return after a few months.

I began with giving him a dose of Sulphur, which aggravated his itch enormously, so i quickly abandoned that course of action.

Upon again studying his case again, I decided upon Psorinum, which at that time i only had in a 200X potency. After the first dose his itch had diminished a great deal. The second dose a week later was a divided dose in 200ml of water, of which i allowed him only teaspoon doses. I instructed him to dissolve a single globule in it and give it 10 succussions. Before each dose, 2 succussions were to be given.Their action was rather short and i instructed him to only take a dose when he aggravated again. Gradually his itch diminished and the skin began to clear up. When he had finished the first 200 ml bottle, the doses were hardly sufficient to diminish the itch. I instructed him to now put 1 globule in a large coke bottle, which he first had to clean out with boiling water. This was a 1&1/2 litre bottle filled 2/3ds with water and the same succussions.
The improvement continued and about once a month we met for updates. In due course of time he told me the bottle was nearly empty and i said that when he reached the bottom to just fill it up again and keep taking teaspoon doses.

In this way he continued for 2 years and finally in the summer of 2008 - after i had been away in India for 6 months - he came running up to me with tears in his eyes and told me he was completely clean. Meanwhile he had filled up his bottle about 12 times, never again putting another globule in there, but always with the last few drops of the empty bottle. He had been to the beach and ran around in swimming trunks, drank a lot less and had a girlfriend to boot - the latter he never had due to his condition. In winter the itch returned, this time also the skin began to scale again, but only in the folds of his knees and elbows. I then put him on LM 1 water dose for about 2 weeks and he cleared up again. Since that time he has had no itch and no return of symptoms and drinks about 2-3 beers a day - in the evenings only.

A CASE OF NEPHROTIC SYNDROME

According to the Mosby’s Medical Encyclopedia nephrotic syndrome, also called nephrosis is a kidney disease marked by protein in the urine, abnormally low blood protein (albumin), and fluid gathering in the tissues. It occurs in kidney glomerular disease, blood clotting in a kidney vein, and as a result of other diseases, such as diabetes mellitus, systemic lupus erythematosus, and multiple myeloma. Treatment depends on the cause of disease. The nephrotic syndrome is usually successfully treated with adrenal gland hormones. Diuretics are used to control fluid pooling, but dialysis may be needed.

The Stedman’s Medical Dictionary explains nephrotic syndrome in the following word:
A clinical state characterized by edema, albuminuria, decreased plasma albumin, doubly refractile bodies in the urine, and usually increased blood cholesterol; lipid droplets may be present in the cells of the renal tubules, but the basic lesion is increased permeability of the glomerular capillary basement membranes, of unknown cause or resulting from glomerulonephritis, diabetic glomerulosclerosis, systemic lupus erythematosus, amyloidosis, renal vein thrombosis, or hypersensitivity to various toxic agents. Syn: nephrosis.

It is said that “no risk, no gains” i. e. unless one takes some risk to attempt, can not gain any result. Unless one appears in an examination neither gain success nor failure and ultimately no experience.
A five years old boy was brought to my clinic for cough and coryza. During his examination his father told me that the boy has been suffering from nephritic syndrome for long time, the case was first diagnosed and treated at Apollo Millennium Hospital, New Delhi in 2003.

In the year 2006 the child was taken to A. I. I. M. S., New Delhi, and was treated there. The child continued to suffer still in 2007, though Allopathic treatment continued all the time.
I asked the father of the boy why they don’t try homoeopathic treatment for the boy. I did not promise him any cure, I simply told him that if proper homoeopathic medicine could be diagnosed the boy may get cured and will remain well forever. And he brought him on 14th July 2007. Up to this date he was given only allopathic treatment. Only the following history could be elicited.
• Passes albumin in urine often and in consequence gets dropsical swelling especially on face.
• Gets fever when there is dropsy.
• Often complains pain in abdomen near umbilicus.
• Tendency to get exposure from cold easily and often suffers from coryza and cough.
• The patient feels better in cold.

Nephro is the Greek word for kidney + osois stands for condition:
There are following two conditions which are termed as Nephrosis –
1. Condition in which there are degenerative changes in the kidneys, esp. the renal tubules, without the occurrence of inflammation.

2. Clinical classification of kidney disease in which protein loss is so extensive that edema and hypoproteinemia are produced.

In our Materia Medica there are numerous remedies for either conditions but no medicine is taken or termed as specific for the disease labeled as Nephrotic Syndrome or Nephrosis. The numerous medicines which have produced and cured Albumin in urine or Albuminuria are specific for specific symptoms in respect to the mental and physical state according to the sensations, modalities and concomitant symptoms along with the pathological presence of Albumin in urine. When the correctly indicated medicine will be prescribed from this list of medicines it will surely cure the patient along with his Nephrosis.

In the case in hand above I prescribed Apis melefica 200 on the symptoms as described above and it alone cured him in 3 months’ time.

The report of Urine examination on 2 – 10 – 2007 shows there was nil albumen. After this the child remained well.
In provings of Apis Mellifica as recorded in the Homoeopathic Materia Medica Guiding Symptoms of Our Matria Medica – by C. Hering) the following symptoms were found referring to Nephrotic syndrome:
• In dropsy and albuminuria, the face has marked oedema, often extending to the lips.
• ¤ Fluent coryza. ð Albuminuria.
• ¤ Cough in morning; expectoration sweetish and tasteless. ð
• ¤¤ Dropsical affections, especially oedema and ascites, with
¤ Heat, with cough. ð Albuminuria.


A case
Of
DIFFUSE OSTEOMALACIA

There are instances when the patients suffering from chronic and complicated diseases lose hope of recovery in spite of the so called most modern and very costly treatment. It has been seen that many of such patients often become miserable in place of getting better by the treatment. This has been seen especially in cases of the cancer patients after surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. The saying comes true in such cases:
Marz badhta hi gaya jeon jeon dawa karie.
(The disease worsened as the treatment progressed)
In cases of various diseases like piles and hernia surgeons directly resort to surgery without removing the inherent cause of the disease. Any disease taking place from some internal dynamic disturbance of the life force can not be removed without proper dynamic means. Hahnemann very truly says in $ Aphorism No 16
“Our vital force, as a spirit-like dynamis, cannot be attacked and affected by injurious influences on the healthy organism caused by the external inimical forces that disturb the harmonious play of life, otherwise than in a spirit-like (dynamic) way, and in like manner, all such morbid derangements (diseases) cannot be removed from it by the physician in any other way than by the spirit-like (dynamic virtual) alternative powers of the serviceable medicines acting upon our spirit-like vital force, which perceives them through the medium of the sentient faculty of the nerves everywhere present in the organism, so that it is only by their dynamic action on the vital force that remedies are able to re-establish and do actually re-establish health and vital harmony, after the changes in the health of the patient cognizable by our senses (the totality of the symptoms) have revealed the disease to the carefully observing and investigating physician as fully as was requisite in order to enable him to cure it.”

In a foot note to $ Aphor. 9 he says:
“Most severe disease may be produced by sufficient disturbance of the vital force through the imagination and also cured by the same means.”
This foot note was written by Hahnemann long before the science of psychiatry came into being.

When the patients suffering from so called incurable diseases and become miserable from the medication and treatment of the so called modern system of medicine, in such a state they often come to Homoeopathic physicians to seek their help in the hope of some miracle that may cure them. I have seen in most of such cases proper selection of the homoeopathic medicines surely help the patients, often beyond imagination. In such cases the homoeopathic physician must have courage to accept the challenge to undertake the treatment of such a patient. The physician must have deep knowledge of his Materia Medica (MM) to manage such cases. I do not claim that I have deep knowledge of MM but I am spending one hour daily to the study of the detailed MM for nearly past thirty years and this study is paying me the dividend. I may be allowed to give an examples hereunder in support of my above statement.
A Case of Diffuse Osteomalcia. – This is a case of a lady about 46 years old. The first consultation was done on 7th September 2007. The story of the lady is as follows:
• About three years ago she felt pain in her lumbar region. It was diagnosed as slip disc. She was advised complete bed rest which she did and felt some relief. There was history of a jolt in the lumbar region about three years ago while she was traveling in a car.
• She started feeling heaviness in her lower sacral region and hips.
• Walking became difficult because she became unable to lift up her legs. Lifting up arms also became troublesome. She told that when she is going to bed she can not lift her legs to the bed, some one else used to lift her legs up to bed.
• On my first visit to her residence for consultation she came from another room with the help of a walker, dragging her feet.
• A kind of paralysis of the bladder, when she attempts to rise to stand up, her urine escapes.
• Though her condition was as explained above yet she did not used to feel pain or numbness in her limbs.
• Thirstlessness – drinks little water.
• She is a diabetic. She told her Random sugar goes up to 172 mg/dl.
• She gets occasional fever.
• She is corpulent/obese yet sweating scantly.
• Formication and itching agg. In bed.
• Weakness of memory.
Family history:
• Father suffered from cancer of pancreas.
• Mother had blood cancer.
MRI dt.3 – 7 – 2007:
MR findings are suggestive of diffuse Osteomalacia with a recent insufficiency fracture of the left pubic bone. (see Annexure)

It is note worthy here that her husband is an Ayurvedic physician and is employed in a government hospital. This condition of the lady was despite all the empirical treatment.

Surgery was advised as the only solution.

She responded well to the homoeopathic treatment and started feeling improvement in her condition from the very first week.

The treatment was started with Ruta g. 10M one dose followed by Angusture vera 30. Only two doses of Ruta 10 M were given on the basis of the fracture in her left pubic bone. Thyroidinum 200 was also given inter currently due to her thyroid problem. Mainly Angusture vera 30 did the job.

Due to family circumstances she was never regular in taking the medicine yet she gradually went on improving and by 27 – 12 – 2007 she improved so much that she was able to visit my clinic by auto rickshaw a distance of about 8 kilometers. She ascended and descended the rickshaw herself and entered my chamber walking without any support she told that she is able now to move in her house comparatively at ease. She now ascends her bed on her own. She also told that she had lost all hope of recovery before homoeopathic treatment, now she feels that she has regained new life.
She did not take any medicine for about two and half months yet she went on feeling improvement in her health. On 11th June one of her elder sister came to Dehradun from Srinagar Garhwal and visited my clinic for consultation for her own complaints. She expressed her joy about the improvement in the health of this patient. She was very happy she told me that when she visited the patient - the patient bowed to touch the feet of her elder sister. (In Garhwal it is the custom to bow to the elders and touch their feet.). She told that she was very much surprised to see the action of her younger sister who was previously unable to walk even and now bowing to touch her feet.
The patient herself visited my clinic on 12 – 6 – 2008 and she is happy by the progress. Now the puffiness of her body gone, she can move and do some of her household jobs with ease.
The treatment is now again continued since 10th May 2008 though it was expected that she will continue till recovery but after some further improvement she again discontinue the medicine. Yet she is O. K. and carrying her housekeeping with ease.
Such results really give hope to the patient as well as pleasure to the physician in hopeless cases and prove the universal nature of the laws of cure – Homoeopathy.
(As far dose is concerned I use 4 or 5 globules of no. 10 size moistened in the dilution as a dose dry on tongue.)
Discussion: Dr. Clarke says that Angustura vera is useful for - Bone-pains; Caries; and injuries, among other clinical conditions.
Among the characteristic symptoms there are:
• Spinal cord and extensor muscles principally affected.
• Sensation of weakness and of stiffness in the whole body, as if the marrow of the bone were stiff.
• The spinal marrow and the exterior muscles are principally affected.
• Stiffness and extension of the limbs.
• Tension in the muscles while walking.
• Paralysis of different parts.
• Great difficulty in walking, with threatened paralysis of the legs. In tetanus, traumatic, or otherwise, when there is spasmodic twitching or jerking of the muscles.
Dr. George Vithoulkas says,”Angustura vera has come down to us as a remedy for rheumatic conditions with fatigue and stiffness of the extremities bordering on paralysis. In our texts it is said: "He does not have confidence enough in himself to undertake and perform voluntary motions." There is a tendency in these patients over several years to progressively develop paralytic stiffness and weakness; the rheumatic complaints tend towards a paralytic state. There is stiffness and tension or a drawing feeling in the joints and muscles, with crackling of the joints.”
As for Ruta graveolens is concerned it is a grand remedy for scrofulous exostosis; bruises and other mechanical injuries of bones and periosteum; sprains; periostitis; erysipelas; fractures, and especially dislocations (Symp.).
