Dear Gina,
Every body narrates the case history in fabulous manner. The pivot of symptom which led to think of the remedy in the case found no significant stress.Suppression and pathogenesis with group of symptoms are detailed.In Graphites, the pathogenesis stressed with a exudation "honey-like" (E.B.Nash under remedy Graphites).I think here the stress: " a thick, yellowish pus, often very offensive under an eruption covered with thick, elevated white scabs ". Is it the pathogenesis of Mezereum like Graphites ?. Please clarify it.

Thank you once again.I am always looking through the remedy in triangle way.
characteristics (mind,general or particular), modalities and concomitants are the three sides of triangle approach.some times there may be incomplete triangle and I use to complete the triangle with patient constitutions.I feel pleasant to see your open heart which are usually absent in somebody.

Case 1
A patient with peptic ulcer, weeping eczema etc. came to me and said, “Doctor, I am not taking the treatment to live long, but I have an aged daughter to be married and a son who is looking out for a job. Who would come forward to marry my daughter, if I have a weeping eczema? Only because of that, I want to get cured. Before I die I want to settle things in my family; my daughter getting married and son getting a job. Then I can die peacefully.”

Under the homoeopath remedy Petroleum (Boericke’s Materia Medica) we find the following: “Feels that death is near, and must hurry to settle affairs.”

Now, this sentence fits in approximately with the remarks made by the above eczema patient. This remedy was given in single dose and it cured him completely.



Case 2
A peptic ulcer patient’s condition worsened day by day and allopathic antacids were giving temporary relief. At the height of his suffering (hunger pain with burning sensation in the food pipe, temporarily relieved by eating) he was heard saying, “I think that my end is approaching; I must call the lawyer to write the will. This hotel of mine should go to my wife; money deposited in the bank is for my son. My widowed sister who has been living with me for several years and helping me should take the house which I bought recently.”

This mind picture agrees with the remarks made by the patient in case No.1 above. One single dose of Petroleum-10M cured this patient also. We do not prescribe on names of disease or pathology but on ‘uncommon’ symptoms having no connection with pathology.


(a) The above two cases would show the reader that one and the same remedy may be called for in different persons with different diseases.

(b) Persons suffering from different diseases may need one and the same remedy.


Let us now see further three actual cases treated where three patients, all of them having the same complaint, viz., ‘headache’, were cured by different remedies.



Case 3
A patient with chronic headache, after spending millions with various doctors and specialists came to me. After finishing the history of his seven years’ sufferings, he ended up saying: “Doctor, if you or any one can cure me of this terrible headache, I won’t mind even giving away half of my property (worth three millions) to him.”

Doctors of all other systems would simply ignore these words told by the patient at the end of his talk.

If a patient says that he is ready to pay 1.5 millions for getting his headache cured, we can say that he is “deplorably downhearted.” [deplorable = shockingly bad]

Under the homeopathic remedy Stillingia (Wilkinson’s Materia Medica), we find the words “deplorably downhearted; suffering extreme torture from bone pains;” Stillingia, one dose cured him.



Case 4
Here is another case of headache. This 55-year old male patient remarked: “Doctor, all these years I have been having these torturing bone pains in head; my sufferings are such that no amount of compensation would satisfy me. Even if you make me President of all the countries in the world that would not be a sufficient compensation.”

The equivalent words or phrase for this statement of the patient would be:
Extreme sadness, abject despair, uncompromising melancholy.

The above is found under the remedy Selenium (See Boericke’s Mat. Med.)

Selenium, one dose, cured him.



Case 5
A middle aged man of forty enters my clinic complaining of headache for a few months. After telling me that he tried allopathy, ayurveda, homoeopath etc. he told me that the pain in head started the previous year when he was having malarial fever; though malaria was cured, the pain in his head continued. (Certain cases are the easiest to work out; certain cases are difficult)

Calvin B. Knerr’s Repertory: Chapter No. 40.
Fever, intermittent (ague):…. with headache; Cina, Cist., Kali-c., Polyp.
Fever, intermittent apyrexia:… headache, Arn., Natr.m., Polyp., Puls.

Poly Pinicola, being common to the above two lists was given in single dose. Total relief felt for a month after which he reported relapse. The same remedy was given this time in single dose in a higher potency and it is now more than seven years and he is free from headache. Also, his chronic constipation was cured.


Thus, in cases No. 3, 4 and 5 above though the complaint, viz., ‘headache’ is same in all of them, each patient got different remedies.


To be precise, those symptoms which doctors of other medical systems would ignore, we take that and that alone for prescribing or selecting the remedy in homoeopath.

There are no specifics in homoeopath.

Why should we do like this? Why not have a specific remedy for jaundice and another for headache and so on and so forth?

Our answer: Dear reader, the above method of prescribing on ‘uncommon’ symptom alone can cure patients with ONE SINGLE DOSE or a few doses.


[In each medical system there may be something unique, and without arguing which one is the best, the intelligent man takes the best from each.]

70 to 90 PER CENT OF CAESAREAN SURGERIES CAN BE DONE AWAY WITH THREE DOSES OF HOMOEOPATHIC MEDICINE.

The foetus (baby in the uterus of the pregnant mother) 1-3 weeks prior to delivery date (so long remaining in upright position) turns upside down, and the uterus descends down in such a way that the head of the foetus remains fixed in the pelvic floor of the mother. 1-3 weeks later, at the delivery time the mouth of the uterus dilates and the child comes out. Even after the full term of ten months if the child does not turn upside down, or turns half-way and lies crosswise.

Another; having turned upside down, does not descend further down, the attending lady doctor would say that head is still floating or is in an incorrect position and so opens the abdomen to take out the child. This is called caesarean surgery. 70 to 90 per cent of caesarean surgeries at the present day are conducted solely for this reason.

At this time if the patient takes three doses of the homoeopath medicine Pulsatilla-1000, every 4-8 hours, in the next twenty-four hours it would be a normal and safe delivery.


In the reference book The Accoucheur’s Emergency Manual by Dr. W. A. Yingling, M.D., of U.S.A. we find the following: "Abnormal presentations may be righted if (Pulsatilla is) given before the membranes are ruptured or the presenting parts are firmly engaged…"

In a maternity hospital, Pollachi Road, Dharapuram, Tamilnadu, by using Pulsatilla and other remedies there has not been even a single caesarean for the past several years and the doctor in-charge has put up a board “Caesarean-free’’ Clinic. The Dharapuram Lions Club has given her a certificate testifying this.

(2) If the babe in the uterus stops growing, allopathy has no cure and they abort the child, but if one single dose of the homoeopath medicine Secale Cornutum-10M is given, the babe starts growing. (See Calvin B. Knerr’s Repertory, p. 698. Pregnancy, foetus, development arrested: Sec.)

(3) After caesarean (or for that matter after any abdominal surgery) there would be pain in the sutured place lasting for years, but one single dose of the homeopathic medicine Staphysagria-1000, completely cures in twenty-four hours all post-operative abdominal discomforts.

(4) Some newly married women are prone to urinary infection and they spend in the thousands. Again, the same homoeopath medicine Staphysagria-1000, in one single dose, would cure the condition in just a day’s time.


RANDOM NOTES ON PRACTICE

Certain symptoms cannot be classified in the repertory under any heading. Therefore it is better to memorize and keep them at your finger-tip.


For the following two cases (case No. 6 & 7) one and the same remedy cured.



Case 6
A patient consulted me for allergic rash on skin on both upper limbs and chest.

He said, “Doctor, for the last three years I have gone to allopaths, ayurveda, homoeopaths etc. They have treated me for weeks and months with just five per cent relief. If I eat unstrained cooked rice or wheat flour preparation I would get distension of my belly; that evening the rash on skin will start; in the night if I pass flatus freely per ano or have a free bowel movement the rash would disappear.”



Case 7
A school boy of twelve was brought by the parents. The mother started talking: “Doctor, he has to leave the house for school at 9.30 in the morning. He gets up at 6.00 a.m. By 7.30 a.m. he becomes so restless—jumps, cries etc. This would last for half-an-hour. Then this disappears; it is followed by 3-4 times loose bowel movement. After that he becomes completely all right and goes to school.”

In both the above cases the symptoms that should come to our mind is given below:
“Symptoms disposed to appear perio-dically and in groups… intermitting . . .”

The above lines are found in the remedy Cuprum met. (Boericke’s Materia Medica.) This remedy cured both the above patients (case No. 6 & 7) in one single dose in the 200th potency.


Case 8
A patient consulted me for constipation. Even laxatives and purgatives were said to be of no use. He further said that for several years he had been taking daily an anti-convulsant drug for epilepsy and if he stops it he would get convulsions.

The following under the remedy Opium (in Wilkinson’s Materia Medica) agrees with this case: “…Increased irritability and action in voluntary muscles, with diminution of it in involuntary muscles…”

When the intestine is full with faeces, urging is felt (involuntary muscles.) In the instant case these muscles are not functioning. Movement of limbs is controlled by voluntary muscles and he gets convulsions in them (increased irritability and action).

Opium-10M one single dose cured his constipation and he was asked to stop anti-convulsant drugs; he did so and to his surprise convulsions did not appear.


Case 9
A patient showed his right leg with an ulcer. He got an injury a few months earlier, but so far it did not heal in spite of best medical treatment. After a pause, the patient continued, “Doctor, ever since the accident I feel numbness in my right upper arm and I am unable to use it freely. Has this non-healing of the wound in my leg anything to do with numbness in my arm? But my arm was not hurt in the accident.”

We say that homoeopath is a system of medicine where the patient tells or indicates the remedy to us. In Wilkinson’s Materia Medica the following sentence under the remedy Pulsatilla agrees with this case: … “depression of vital power on one side and increased irritability on the other…”

Pulsatilla-10M, one single dose cured both the ulcer on the leg and numbness in the arm.


Case 10
The one symptom in the remedy Belladonna (found in Wilkinson’s Materia Medica) will highlight what is meant by ‘uncommon symptom’; also it would illustrate the uniqueness and superiority of Wilkinson’s Materia Medica.

A patient came in with a pain in the femoral part of the urethra and backache. It was worse while riding the two-wheeler. He showed his medical file (given by allopathic hospital) and therefrom we noted the following points:
hydroureteronephrosis—Left kidney
pain in femoral part of urethra,
pain in sacral region.
His complaint (pathology) is in the kidney/ureter, but he has pain in the femoral part of urethra and sacrum. This is something rare-strange-peculiar. Both these painful places are at the same distance from the seat of affection—kidney.

Under the remedy Belladonna (Wilkinson’s Materia Medica (*2)) we find the following: “Inflammation of internal organs… The inflammation… runs in radii as it extends to adjacent parts.”
(Femoral part of urethra and pain in sacrum are more or less at equal distance from his left ureter.)
Belladonna-10M, single dose, cured him.


Case 11
Two years after case No. 5 above, a lady came to me for cervical spondylitis. These patients get pain normally in the neck extending to head or one upper limb. Strangely this patient complained of unbearable pain in both shoulder tips. (Both shoulder tips are at the same distance away from the cervical vertebra.) Belladonna-10M, single dose cured her.


Case 12
A lady, the mother-in-law of a fourth stage cancer patient, came to me asking for medicine for cancer. When I asked her to bring the patient she said that he wouldn’t come. I asked her to tell me in verbatim what he had said. She replied, “He does not say anything.’’

At this stage I asked her whether she did not care to go and see her son-in-law who is said to be in fourth stage cancer. She replied: “My daughter wrote me a letter stating that doctors have said that he would live for another six months only and he is not afraid of death, but he wants to live with his family in the same quarters in which he had been living all along and said that he does not want anyone (be it friends or relatives) to visit him.’’

(Sometimes, we do get valuable symptoms from the report of messengers).

Let us now see how to work out this case.
“Does not want anyone to visit him”
– Aversion to company
“Till death wants to live with family in the same quarters where he had been living all these years”
– Homesick

Company, aversion to: (several remedies)
Homesickness: (several remedies)

Remedies common to these two rubrics and scoring more points are: Aur.-4, Carb-an.-6, Ign.-5, Nat-m.-5

To confirm one out of the above four remedies, they were studied in HOMOEOPATHIC THERAPEUTICS (By
Dr. Samuel Lilienthal) under the chapter “Carcinoma.’’ Under Carb-an. we find the words “cachexia full developed”.

Again, in the chapter ‘Melancholia’ under the remedy Carb-an. we find the following words: “desire for solitude.”

Carb-an.-10M, single dose was prescribed. Patient is improving.

A Case Of Childhood Epilepsy

July 06, 2000Tim Shannon, ND(homeopath) USA

Female, 10 years old
Chief Complaint: Epilepsy

Observation: Patient is very shy talking about the problem and mostly looks downward and doesn't say anything unless prompted. She also covers her face with her hands at times throughout the interview. During the interview, it becomes clear that she uses the word “sick” when talking about convulsions. She also uses the word sick when referring to a day when she is prone to multiple convulsions. (Bear in mind the case is translated, so it is a bit unclear at times).

Subjective: I cannot be sick unless I touch something. I only get sick after touching something strongly. If sick, when doing something, I touch a place and the sickness returns. If I am walking and I touch something, I become sick. After I move my hand from that place, I am okay, then I continue to walk, when I touch something again, I become sick. When taking my hands away from that place, I become well again. Place? anywhere. Anytime I touch anything. The sickness comes every day I touch anything. At this point, I was confused and asked her if she touched something right now, would she have convulsions. She then clarified, that only when she had this strange sensation on her knees and touched something, would she get convulsions: I feel like things are holding me on my knees. It is only when I touch something during that time , I start the convulsions. I feel like I am being tied with chains. What exactly does it feel like when you get sick? I don't feel anything, just the convulsions. Could you say more about this idea of being tied with chains? Just on the knee joints. Do you have fear or pain when it happens? No, it is only after I feel tied with chains, and then I touch something that I get sick. It comes at any time, even in the morning, it is unpredictable.

Observation: Patient hides behind hands and looks away sharply.
I've had this sickness since I was young. How long are the convulsions? Two minutes. Any changes in seeing or hearing during trembling? when I get sick and take drugs I can't hear, but if I don't take the drugs, then I can hear and understand well. Foods your are averse to? I don't like fish, especially the small small fish.

Observation: Patient is playing with clothes most of the interview, shyly.
Your thirst? small thirst, I like taking cold drinks.

Tell me something about animals. I like zebras and monkeys. I don't like giraffes, they have a long neck. I don't like flies, I don't like small birds that fly together. I like the big birds.

The thing I hate most is people with bad manners, I hate bad behaviors of the elders, the people who close small children in the house and beat them and those who throw away their young children.

Temperature preferences? I like the room that is cold, but I don't like to be covered.

I hate tasting things, I think that tasting things could be poisonous. If I go to someone's home, and there is food, I remember what my father said about tasting food. I just tell the person, thank you, then refuses the food, I feels that I could be poisoned by their food.

Mothers input:
When it started when she was about 1 year old. I first took her to the hospital when she was about 9 years. She refused to take the medicine, and the times she did, it helped only a little. Frequency of convulsions? 3 to 4 times a day. She starts holding something and then the convulsions begin. She also forgets things. You can tell her anything, then when you ask her she forgets. In school she doesn't understand anything. You can't tell l her anything, if she doesn't like it she refuses. She just says no, I'm not going to do that. She likes washing the other children, and also herself. She likes learning, although she doesn't understand anything. She doesn't know how to read. She couldn't learn to even write her own name. She can do math, but can not read.

Assessment: This patient should do well on the Rx Syphilinum. The odd sensation of being tied @ the knees, the (mild) obsession with cleaning, the backwardness, shyness, and the convulsions are all well known for the Rx

July 11, 2000, (5 days later)
CC: Epilepsy

How are you? I feel better. After the medicine, now I'm haven't gotten sick. Any other changes? No, only the sickness is reduced. The sensation of knees being bound together? I haven't been having that. How about being poisoned? Before I used to go to the neighbor's and thought the food was poisoned, but that feels different, better. I am still concerned about being poisoned though. Before the medicine, how many times would you wash yourself? I would wash myself three times a day, now only once a day.

Observation: Patient is making much more frequent eye contact, even smiling unabashedly a few times.

Any changes with your relationship to people? After the medicine, I don't fear people so much. I used to fear them more before.

Note: After I left the clinic, I kept in contact with Didi Rucira. She observed that the patient continued to do well. The patient was followed for many months afterwards. It was noted that her convulsions, fear of being poisoned, and overall shyness all improved markedly following the Syphilinum 200c.

Case-1

Case of neglected and improper allopathic medication for many years and now the patient was on the verge of surgical treatment.

Name:- Mr. Nand Kaishore

Age:- 48yrs

Sex:- Male

Address:- 96, Bagh pura Ujjain

Regd no :- P-127

Date of First Visit:- 4/10/08

Symptoms :-


-Has to exert a lot of preassure during passing urine which takes his breath away from him.
-Involuntry urination during night.
-whitish discharge everytime when he goes to urinate. (prostatic discharge)

-Severe weakness and dullness.
-Easily get fatigued, even after performing slight physical activity.
-Internally feels as if feverish all the time.

Appetite:-

-Very much decreased, cannot eat more than 1 chapati's

Thirst:-

-Drinks only 2-4 glass of water per day.

Tongue:-

Converastion between doctor (sonographist) and Patient:-

Doctor:- what treatment you are taking?

Patient:- I have taken allopathic treatment for many years with no relief and now i m taking Homoeopathic treatment.

Doctor:- Homoeopathy will not cure this disease You need a surgical treatment for this you are very late and now if you want to live you need a surgery no other treatment can cure you."Homoeopathy से कुछ नहीं होता और ये केस Homoeopathic नहीं है तुम्हे बहुत देर हो गई है अगर अपना भला चाहते हो तो हॉस्पिटल में सीधे जाकर भरती हो जाओ ऑपरेशन करवाना पड़ेगा"

Symptoms after taking first priscription:- (12/10/08)

from day one of taking medicine there was no prostatic discharge while passing urine, which he was suffering from years.
Slight relief while urination.

No relief in Nocturnal involuntary urination.
Apetite still Decreaced.
Stool:- relief in constipation.
relief in weakness and dullness.

Now patient asked i m feeling a bit better should i take homoeopathic medicines or should i go for surgical treatment as now i m very much scared after sonography because the doctor says that i am very late and should immeditely go for surgery.

But i advised him to continue the treatment on my faith.

as the patient was felling better has was continued on placebo.

Patient was asked to come after 7 days.

remarkable change were seen in present complaints:-

There was no pain while urinating.
No prostatic discharge while passing urine.
Patient says around 70-80% relief in nocturnal urination.
Apetite was very much increased, now he was able to eat 4-5 chapati's
weakness and dullness was also better than before.

now the patient was again continued on placebo and was called after 7 days.

Date:-26/10/08

now the patient conditions were same as of last week, so this time patient was prescribed

tds x 15 days

and he was asked to come again after 15 days.

Date:- 12/11/09

and this time the patient comes with a smiling face, and relief in all the complaints but still some physical weakness was there.

and now this time patient was asked again for an USG.
and was left on placebo again.
he came after 3 days with USG report.

and the reports were amazing,
Final impression - No abnormalities seen.

Well this was really a great case for me as the patient was in great suffering from so many years and now he was cured by homoeopathy in just few days, thanks to Dr. Hahnemann for giving us such a great great pathy by which we can help others to ged rid of there sufferings.
