I have been watching the 'oscillo' poll over the past 6 weeks and the fluctuations between the responses. It has been fascinating to see the ratios hover back and forth by 5-7 degrees amongst the options for people taking this remedy as a preventative, at onset of illness, along with genus epidemicus and only as a similimum.

Perhaps people can explain the origin of their response?

Is it from experience in many cases? Is it from reading Chronic Diseases by Hahnemann or another author?

I agree with Gina that you shouldn't try to treat something that isn't a problem and initially my classical training kept me away from prophylaxis. Thing is, I've seen that it does work and having pondered why - I think partly because the remedies we use as prophylaxis are so very representative of the main expressions of the disease, regardless of the individuals 'variation on the theme' and also because if the individual is seeking prophylaxis, the disease is already a problem IN THE MIND even if not yet in the body. I use Oscillococcinum 200c monthly through the flu season, weekly if the flu is epidemic locally and then move on to other remedies as indicated IF needed.

Well said!
Yes this is a big part of the problem. Thinking like an Allopath is NOT homeopathy.
Even when we use herbs or vitamins it is more like allopathy.
Homeopathy uses the indicated symptoms as they appear,for EACH individual this will be different.
No one needs to take any remedy to prevent the flu,I certainly dont,my family does not,I dont recom. it to my patients and not my friends.

Think about it..............If we worry about the miriad of diseases out there that "MIGHT" make us sick,we would need to swallow all 3,000 hom. remedies!
This is what Big Pharma has done "manipulate fear into the population" so they ask for vaccines "Just In case".
And we all know that is Hogwash!!!!!!
We Must realize by now that-
The vaccine theory in allopathy makes them the laughing stock of medicine.

The drama continues
its now october months since we started this discussion.
How many of your own patients say to you:
"i have that swine flu"
or
"My child has that swine flu"

Insaine,just insaine what the media has done to people's logical thinking?

Its just a flu!
Homeopathy has a massive historical proven cure rate for the flu.
Prescribe for each individual,not for an allopathic diagnosis (or worse a patients own diagnosis)
based on fear mongering due to this media manipulation.
Arrggghhhhhh!!!!!
