What is it and how Homeopathic remedies are considered

Vaccinosis is a reaction to a vaccine. A person or animal can have an adverse reaction to vaccines.
Some people are more susceptible than others.
Some have acute symptoms that show immediately after having shots, one day to several days after.
Examples of acute adverse reactions:
Seizures, fevers, breathing problems, fainting, swelling in area shot was given, headaches, dizziness, chills, digestive upsets, vomiting.
Some indicate chronic symptoms showing up long-term, often years later, and are complex to detox. Some examples of chronic adverse reactions:
Asthma, learning problems (ADD, Autism, Aspergers, ADHD), Eczema, bowel obstruction, many allergies, urinary/kidney defects, reproductive problems, Seizures, Death.
The list of adverse reactions is massive. Full research needs to be done by all parents prior to even considering having shots of ANY type.

So if you as a parent have had your baby vaccinated and start to see symptoms don’t bother to report them to the MD that gave these shots. They will flat out deny the connection between vaccines and symptoms (acute or chronic). MD's are required to report vaccine adverse reactions but don't. Perhaps only 5-10% of adverse reactions get ever reported and that is done by the parents NOT THEIR MD's!

Now what? Your baby has Vaccinosis, What does a parent do now? Find a Homeopathic organization- directory a database of practitioners or Google or your phonebook or perhaps you already have a homeopath.
This cannot be done via self-prescribing. Each person has their own set of specific adverse reactions to vaccines. Homeopathy has over 3,000 different remedies used for various ailments. When it comes to prescribing a homeopathic detox for vaccine-damage, a full case-taking needs to be done by a trained classical practitioner. If people knew what was really in those vaccines, they would never allow themselves to be injected with them.

Aside from the dangerous ingredients many people already know about (like squalene or thimerosal), one of the key ingredients used in flu vaccines (including the vaccines being prepared for the swine flu pandemic) is the diseased flesh of African Green Monkeys. This is revealed in U.S. patent No. 5911998 - Method of producing a virus vaccine from an African green monkey kidney cell line. (http://www.patentstorm.us/patents/5...)

As this patent readily explains, ingredients used in the vaccine are derived from the kidneys of African Green Monkeys who are first infected with the virus, then allowed to fester the disease, and then are killed so that their diseased organs can be used make vaccine ingredients. This is done in a cruel, inhumane "flesh factory" environment where the monkeys are subjected to a process that includes "incubating said inoculated cell line to permit proliferation of said virus." Then: "harvesting the virus resulting from step (c); and... (ii) preparing a vaccine from the harvested virus."

Aside from the outrageous cruelty taking place with all this ("incubating" the virus in the kidneys of living monkeys, for example), there's another disturbing fact that has surfaced in all this: The patent for this process is held not just by the National Institutes of Health, but by another private corporation known as DynCorp.

This, of course, brings up the obvious question: Who is Dyncorp? And why do they hold a patent on live attenuated vaccine production using African Green Monkeys?



What you probably didn't want to know about Dyncorp
DynCorp, it turns out, is a one of the top private military contractors working for the U.S. government. In addition to allegedly trafficking in under-age sex slaves in Bosnia (http://www.corpwatch.org/article.ph...) and poisoning rural farmers in Ecuador with its aerial spraying of Colombian coca crops (http://www.corpwatch.org/article.ph...), Dyncorp just happens to be paid big dollars by the U.S. government to patrol the U.S. / Mexico border, near where the H1N1 first swine flu virus was originally detected.

DynCorp also happens to be in a position to receive tremendous financial rewards from its patents covering attenuated live viral vaccine harvesting methods, as described in four key patents jointly held by DynCorp and the National Institutes of Health:

Government collusion?
One of the key inventors in these patents now held by DynCorp was Dr. Robert H. Purcell. Who is Dr. Robert Purcell? He's one of the co-chiefs of the Laboratory of Infectious Diseases of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases operating under the National Institutes of Health of the U.S. government. That office, located at 50 South Drive, Bethesda, MD 20892, is less than 15 miles away from the headquarters of DynCorp.

It's not too many more miles to Washington D.C., where U.S. government health authorities awarded over $1 billion in swine flu vaccine contracts to pharmaceutical companies. Can you guess which company received one of the largest vaccine manufacturing contracts? Baxter Pharmaceuticals, the very same company using ingredients derived from African Green Monkeys in precisely the way described in the patents held jointly by DynCorp and the NIH. Remember, Baxter is the company that was caught inserting live viruses into vaccine materials distributed to 18 different countries.

Are you following all this?

So far, we have the U.S. government awarding swine flu vaccine manufacturing contracts to a major U.S. vaccine manufacturer (Baxter) that uses vaccine ingredients from African Green Monkeys (sick!), derived from a process covered in a patent invented by U.S. government NIH researchers (Dr. Purcell and others) and now held jointly by the NIH and a private military contractor named DynCorp -- the very same company that's paid to monitor the U.S. / Mexico border where H1N1 swine flu first appeared.

And just today, there's yet another development in all this: A Tamiflu-resistant strain of swine flu has just been discovered. Care to guess where? On the U.S.-Mexico border (http://www.google.com/hostednews/af...).

Once you understand all this, some obvious questions come to mind: Could H1N1 swine flu have been intentionally created and released into the wild (in Mexico) in order to create a windfall of vaccine profits that would financially benefit both the drug companies and the vaccine production patent holders? Because it certainly appears that a grand conspiracy between the NIH, the vaccine makers and private military contractors could have pulled this off.

But wait: Would a private military contractor really resort to such tactics just to make money?

Since the late 1990s, the United States has paid private contractors an estimated $1.2 billion, both to eradicate coca crops and to assist the Colombian army put down rebels that use the illegal drug trade to finance their insurgency. DynCorp has been awarded under competitive bid more of this business than any other company. In September 2001, a group of Ecuadorian farmers filed a class-action lawsuit against DynCorp under the Alien Tort Claims Act (ATCA), the Torture Victim Protection Act and state law claims in US federal court in the District of Columbia. The plaintiffs claimed that from January to February 2001 DynCorp sprayed the herbicide almost daily, in a reckless manner, causing severe health problems (high fever, vomiting, diarrhea, dermatological problems) and the destruction of food crops and livestock of approximately 10,000 residents of the border region. In addition, the plaintiffs alleged that the toxicity of the fumigant caused the deaths of four infants in this region. The plaintiffs alleged under ATCA that DynCorp’s intensive aerial spraying of a toxic fumigant amounted to torture, a crime against humanity and cultural genocide.

And on the issue of DynCorp's people engaging in the sex slave trade:

According to whistleblower Ben Johnston, a former aircraft mechanic who worked for [DynCorp] in Bosnia, employees and supervisors of a predecessor company to today's DynCorp International engaged in sex with 12 to 15 year old children, and sold them to each other as slaves.

On June 2, 2000, members of the 48th Military Police Detachment conducted a sting on the DynCorp hangar at Comanche Base Camp, one of two U.S. bases in Bosnia, and all DynCorp personnel were detained for questioning. CID spent several weeks working the investigation and the results appear to support Johnston's allegations. For example, according to DynCorp employee Kevin Werner's sworn statement to CID, "during my last six months I have come to know a man we call 'Debeli,' which is Bosnian for fat boy. He is the operator of a nightclub by the name of Harley's that offers prostitution. Women are sold hourly, nightly or permanently."

Could this same company -- which admittedly sprays poison on family farms in Colombia and Ecuador -- have engaged in another crime against humanity with the release of swine flu virus in Mexico?


Important questions that need to be asked (and answered)
This apparent conspiracy brings up several important questions that need to be answered:

1) Why are key viral vaccine patents jointly held by the NIH and a large private military contractor?

2) Given the atrocious vaccine material handling safety record of Baxter Pharmaceuticals, why did the U.S. government choose Baxter to manufacture vaccines for public consumption?

3) Why is no one talking about the African Green Monkeys who are infected, incubated and then killed for harvesting vaccine ingredients used in the swine flu vaccine?

4) Is it just coincidence that the swine flu virus (and now the Tamiflu-resistant mutation of the virus) first appeared at the U.S. / Mexico border near where DynCorp has a security presence?

5) Why would the inventors of a key vaccine technology agree to hand over ownership of the patent to a private military contractor like DynCorp?

6) Why has nobody in the mainstream media noticed any of this yet (or not bothered to report on it?)

7) How much money is DynCorp collecting on the vaccine patents due to the sudden large-scale manufacture of swine flu vaccines taking place right now?

8) Why does the U.S. government continue to do business with criminally-minded organizations and incompetent vaccine manufacturers?


The pieces of the puzzle (opinion)
It's difficult to consider all the evidence presented here and not come to the rational conclusion that something sinister is afoot in America today. Let me paint a picture for you of a plausible scenario of what I think is happening right now. Note, carefully, that this is merely speculation, but it's a theory that makes sense:

Back in the late 1990's, evil leaders of the U.S. government decided they needed to launch a covert population control measure that could reduce the population while deflecting blame for the deaths. The obvious choice for this was a viral pandemic, so using the viral samples and knowledge already attained by U.S. Army virologists, they engineered a combination swine / avian / human influenza virus patterned after the 1918 influenza that devastated the world population nearly a century ago. The plan, of course, would be to release the virus into the wild and let nature do the rest.

But killing off a lot of people isn't profitable enough all by itself. The plan is a lot smarter if you add a profit center to it... and that's where the vaccines come into play. First, the patents had to be secured in order to guarantee profitability. DynCorp was offered partial ownership of the patents (together with the National Institutes of Health) in exchange for its responsibility to covertly release the engineered virus in Mexico, assuring the global spread of the next influenza pandemic. It will be paid back in patent royalties from the pharmaceutical companies that are awarded the government-funded vaccine manufacturing contracts.

Baxter was chosen by the U.S. government precisely because of its expertise in inserting live viruses into vaccine materials. And just to make sure the drug companies would play along, the U.S. government (under the Bush administration) granted them all complete immunity against product liability for all vaccines. This removed any financial risk from the drug companies while setting the stage for a massive human die-off following the vaccine injections.

Once the injections begin and people start dying, the deaths will simply be blamed on the virus itself. The drug companies have complete legal immunity, and DynCorp gets its share of the profits as the holder of the patents. Key conspirators are rewarded with bonus stock options and / or the threat of being killed if they talk.

Through this plan, several important things are accomplished:

1) The population gets reduced (with no blame on the national leaders).

2) Billions of dollars get funneled to powerful corporations.

3) The pandemic outbreak itself allows government to declare a State of Emergency where yet more rights and freedoms can be stolen away from the People. (And companies like DynCorp can be hired to run domestic prison camps or "isolation camps.")

4) The government and the pharmaceutical industry both get to position themselves as "heroic" for apparently attempting to stop the pandemic with vaccines. No matter how many people actually die, Big Pharma will claim many more would have died without the vaccine.

5) Those who survive the pandemic (and the vaccine) become immune compromised due to the vaccine, and they later emerge as repeat customers for future medical procedures (cancer, Parkinson's, etc.).

Of course, this is all just a theory. Some people might even call it a paranoid theory. But I ask them one question: Why does a top U.S. military contractor share ownership of key vaccine patents with the U.S. government's National Institutes of Health?

Merely attempting to explain that will lead you down the path to all kinds of eye-opening information about collusion between government, the pharmaceutical industry and the military-industrial complex. And you know what they all have in common? They're all promoters of death.

But it's not enough to just kill you; they want to make money while they're doing it.


Read your history
Finally, I feel the need to preempt the naive critics who will inevitably post comments to this story like, "Corporations and governments would never knowingly harm people for power or profit."

Such naivete is almost not worth responding to, but I'll do it in advance just to be sure: Read your world history. Not only is world history full of examples of governments and corporations knowingly harming people for profit, it could be accurately stated that world history is largely a collection of precisely such things!

Read your Noam Chomsky, or Naomi Klein, or Confessions of an Economic Hit Man by John Perkins. His newest book is a real eye-opener about the way governments really work: The Secret History of the American Empire: The Truth About Economic Hit Men, Jackals, and How to Change the World (http://www.amazon.com/Secret-Histor...).

Although I can't prove it yet, I believe this current swine flu vaccine push is also part of a grand military-industrial-pharmaceutical conspiracy designed to harm the people while extracting huge profits. Only time will tell if this is an accurate assessment of the current situation.

In the mean time, you may wish to avoid being injected with viral material taken from African Green Monkeys (unless you're some sort of sicko).

Nothing paranoid about it.
In fact, i expect little else from the NIH - so-called ´Health promotors`- because it gives them more power and money.
In the US, it is time that ´we the people´take back the responsibility for our health.
The Constitution says that we the people have the right and the duty to fight all enemies, both foreign and DOMESTIC.

Flu vaccine side effects

Flu vaccine side effects are seldom considered by the majority of people who wish to protect themselves against the flu.

They simply assume that vaccination is both effective and safe. That's what they have been told by doctors and that is what they accept without questioning.

All these assumptions are WRONG. Vaccination does not offer effective protection against the flu. And we shall discuss the effectiveness of flu vaccines in another article. For now, we shall look at flu vaccine side effects.

Far from being safe, some of the flu shot side effects are very serious, including death. For children, vaccination has also been strongly linked with increased incidences of autism.

The basic problem with vaccination is that it is based on the wrong idea that bacteria and viruses "cause" disease.

But, as we see in the article about the germ theory of disease, this is a faulty idea to begin with. Based on this idea, doctors expose people to small doses of weakened bacteria or viruses, in the belief that it would stimulate their immune response against disease.

But vaccines don't just contain the weakened bactria or virus. They also cotain a lot of very highly toxic chemicals, including mercury, aluminium and formaldehyde. These partly account for flu vaccine side effects - and the dangers of vaccination in general. At the same time, the weakened bacteria or virus presents its own set of dangers too.


Harm of vaccination

Before we look specifically at flu vaccine side effects, we consider the dangers of vaccination in general. And the first thing to note is that vaccination has not stopped people from “catching” the very diseases that they have been vaccinated against. Despite vaccination, many diseases are again on the rise:

* In Namibia, 27 cases of paralytic polio were reported in 1993 - 94, although 80 percent of the population has full vaccination coverage.
* In the US, there were 6,335 cases or pertussis in 1993, the highest number in 26 years. In Cincinnati, 82 percent of the cases had at least 3 doses of the DPT (diptheria, pertusis, tetanus) vaccine.

In a February 1995 article, The Lancet discusses the harm of vaccination in an article, Measles and pertussis in developing countries with good vaccine coverage. The article reported that among those who have been vaccinated, these diseases often return in a more virulent form. Unfortunately, rather than re-think vaccination, the article went to on recommend more vaccination, at an earlier age.

Childhood diseases like measles and pertussis, or whooping cough, are actually the body's way of throwing off inherited impurities. They are often harmless. A study of 500 pertussis cases, published in early 1995 in the British Medical Journal, found that most cases were mild. Only 5 cases developed pneumonia. Of these, 3 had been vaccinated.

Because childhood illnesses are a means of discharge, suppressing them through vaccination often leads to more serious, long-term illnesses. Thus, the harm of vaccination lies not only in its side efects, but also in its role in suppressing natural -- and necessary -- body processes:

* One study found that absence of measles is associated with “development of immureactive diseases, sebaceous skin diseases, degenerative diseases of bone and cartilage, and certain tumours.
* Crohn's disease “a chronic inflammation of the intestines“ occurs three times more often in people vaccinated against measles.
* Absence of mumps is linked to higher risks of ovarian cancer.

By suppressing diseases during childhood, these same diseases may occur in adult life, where there is higher risk of complications. Less than 5 percent of children under 3 years infected with hepatitis A become jaundiced. In contrast, 75 percent of infected adolescents and adults develop acute symptoms. By allowing childhood diseases to run their natural course, children develop long-term immunity without harm to the body's immune system.


Human degeneration

The harm of vaccination was recognised as far back as 1884. At that time, J Compton Burnett, an English homeopath, wrote: "The vaccinated person is poisoned by the vaccine virus."

Burnett notes that vaccination is successful only when a person reacts to the virus. If not, the virus gets absorbed. And this leads to what he called "chronic vaccinosis" -- a chronic form of the very same disease that the person was supposed to have been vaccinated against.

Early in the 20th century, American homeopath J H Allen warned that with vaccination, "the whole race will soon become degenerated."

One vocal critic of vaccination is Dr R Obomsawin, describes it as "a futile dream".

Dr Obomsawin was originally commissioned by the Canadian International Development Agency to write about the benefits of vaccination. But after his research, he wrote instead about the harm of vaccination. Dr Obomsawin even questioned the ethics of it: Vaccination inevitably weakens the immunologic system of the child, leaving this system crippled in its ability to protect the child throughout life.

By weakening the immune system, vaccination contributes to auto-immune and degenerative diseases and allergic reactions. In his book, Vaccination, Social Violence and Criminality, medical historian H L Coulter draws links between vaccination and autism, minimal brain damage, anti-social behaviour and violent crime. The link between autism and vaccinations has today become one of the most serious challenges to the safety of vaccination.


Why are vaccines so harmful?

When we look at why are vaccines so harmful, we can better understand some of the flu vaccine side effects.

One reason is that in order to produce vaccines, the bacteria and viruses are cultivated in animal proteins, such as rabbit brain tissue, monkey kidney tissue, pig blood, etc. When injected into the body, these proteins turn toxic because proteins have to be broken down into amino acids by the digestive system before they can be utilised.

Another problem is that the child's immune system is not fully developed until about the age of 4. The child's undeveloped immune system may not be able to distinguish between its own protein and foreign proteins. This can lead to auto-immune diseases, where the body's immune system attacks its own cells.

Foreign proteins also contain animal genetic information which may be picked up by the vaccine and implanted into human genes. This can result in genetic damage.

Combining several vaccines can result in strange new viruses that cause strange new diseases. George Vithoulkas, a world-renowned homeopath, states: "Instead of protecting people through vaccination, we are making humanity sick on a chronic level."


Mild flu vaccine side effects

We now take a closer look at some of the more specific, possible flu vaccine side effects.

MILD flu vaccine side effects are common and these are acknowledged by government health authorities such as the US Center for Disease Control (CDC). These flu vaccine side effects include:

* Soreness, redness, or swelling where the shot was given
* Low grade fever
* Aches

At the same time, the CDC acknowledges that on rare occasions, flu vaccination can cause serious problems, such as severe allergic reactions. And the US government has established a National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP) for those who believe they have been injured by vaccination.

Nasal flu vaccines

Besides flu shots, nasal-spray vaccines, called FluMist® are have been available since its approval by the US FDA in June 2003. And one of the first things to note is that this vaccine was initially not approved in 2001 because of safety concerns.

The flu vaccine side effects of nasal sprays include:
For children:

* runny nose
* headache
* wheezing
* vomiting
* muscle aches
* fever

For adults:

* runny nose
* headache
* sore throat
* cough

These side effects may not seem very serious, but it is worth noting that they are remarkably similar to flu symptoms. So why the CDC assures that nasal-spray flu vaccines will not give you the flu, well, they will give you flu symptoms.

This flu vaccine is not recommended for pregnant women or those with asthma, chronic lung or heart disease; chronic underlying medical conditions such as diabetes or kidney disorders; immune suppression or immune system problems; children or adolescents receiving aspirin therapy, anyone allergic to eggs; or those with a history of Guillain Barre syndrome. And it should not be given simultaneously with other vaccines.

If it is that safe, why the long list of people who should not be given this flu vaccine? Critics of nasal spray flu vaccines also point out that its most common flu vaccine side effect - runny nose - will result in the spreading of the flu virus.

So those vaccinated are advised to avoid close contact with immune-compromised individuals for at least 21 days. The question is, who are these "immune compromised individuals"? Well, they range from people with cancer and organ transplants to people with the flu and even people under stress - which can be just about anybody!

Some hospital personnel are asking those recently vaccinated with Flumist to avoid visiting patients in hospitals to prevent the risk of transmitting the vaccine strain virus to sick patients.


More serious flu vaccine side effects

The more serious possible flu vaccine side effects, however, are seldom discussed ny mainstream health authorities

* Alzheimer's disease
There is emerging evidence that flu vaccine side effects include Alzheimer's disease. Hugh Fudenberg, MD, an immunogeneticist and biologist, studied individuals who received flu shots over a 10-year period between 1970 and 1980. And he found that those who had five consecutive flu shots during the period had 10 times higher risks of developing Alzheimer's Disease, compared to those who had fewer than two flu shots.

Alzheimer's disease has been linked to both mercury and aluminium poisoning and both these substances are present, in toxic amounts, in flu vaccines.

* Guillian Barr syndrome, which causes crippling of the limbs, is another disease listed among the possible flu vaccine side effects. This was first reported in a 1976 study involving swine flu vaccination. The official line from mainstream health authorities is that subsequent studies found the risk to be very small - about one person out out one million vaccinated individuals might develop Guillian Barr Syndrome.

In September 1995, however, the US FDA reported that five college students developed Guillian Barr Syndrome after receiving the meningococcal vaccine against meningitis - an illness with symptoms similar to those of the flu. And in November 2006, Canadian researchers reported a slight rise in the incidence of Guillian Barr Syndrome among those given flu shots.

* Arthritis and joint inflammation are also among the possible flu vaccine side effects.

And in the case of Tamiflu, which has become a highly sought antiviral flu drug in recent years, its side effects include abnormal behavior, neuropsychiatric problems like convulsions, delirium or delusions, and brain infections, In Japan, there were reported cases of young people commiting suicide after being given the Tamiflu vaccine.

Vaccines, Depression and Neurodegeneration After Age 50: Another Reason to Avoid the Recommended Vaccines.

It has been estimated that 6 million elderly Americans suffer from major forms of depressive illness at a cost of $44 billon dollars a year. Depression later in life tends to last longer and be more severe than at younger ages. It is also associated with a high rate of suicide.

Previously, it was thought that major depression was secondary to a deficiency in certain neurotransmitters in the brain, particularly the monoamines, which include serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine. While alterations in these important mood-related neurotransmitters is found with major depression, growing evidence indicates that the primary culprit is low-grade, chronic brain inflammation. In addition, we now know that inflammatory cytokines can lower serotonin significantly and for long periods by a number of different mechanisms.

Researchers have also discovered that most people with major depressive disease (MDD) have higher levels of the neurotransmitter glutamate in their spinal fluid (CSF) and blood plasma. This is the same glutamate found as a food additive-for example, MSG (monosodium glutamate), hydrolyzed proteins, calcium or sodium casienate, soy protein isolate, vegetable protein concentrate or isolate, etc. Much of the free glutamate in the brain of depressed people comes from within, that is it escapes from special cells within the brain itself (microglia and astrocytes). Free glutamate, that is, existing outside the neurons, is very toxic to brain connections and brain cells themselves - mainly by a process called excitotoxicity.

This connection between high brain glutamate levels and major depression was discovered quite by accident, when researchers observed that the anesthetic drug ketamine could relieve depression for a prolonged period. Ketamine is a powerful blocking drug for a class of glutamate receptors (NMDA receptors).

For quite some time it was known that depression could cause a loss of neurons in the hippocampus of the brain-the area most important for recent memory (declarative memory or working memory), the form of memory most affected in Alzheimer’s disease. This shrinkage of the brain usually occurred with long-term depression, yet it was shown, using sophisticated testing, that even without brain shrinkage, memory could be adversely affected. Some antidepressants could not only reverse the memory loss but could reverse the shrinkage as well.

The implication was that the elevated brain glutamate, via excitotoxicity, was destroying brain connections and later killing brain cells in the hippocampus and that the antidepressants were lowering brain glutamate levels. Subsequent studies have confirmed that drugs that block excitotoxicity also reduce depression and that some antidepressants reduce brain glutamate levels.


The Link Between Elevated Brain Glutamate and Inflammation


A tremendous amount of research has now demonstrated the link between chronic low-level brain inflammation, elevated brain glutamate levels and major depression. We know that as we age, the level of inflammatory immune cytokines increase (such as interleukin-1ß (IL-1), IL-6 and TNF-). That is, the level of inflammation in our body increases, with high levels being seen at the extremes of life –the 80s and 90s.

This progressive elevation in the body’s inflammation increases our risk of a number of inflammation-linked diseases, such as cancer, arthritis, muscle weakness, fatigue, sleep disturbances, memory loss and confusion. People with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease have even higher levels of these inflammatory cytokines –much higher.

When inflammatory chemicals are elevated in the brain it makes brain cells more vulnerable to a number of toxins, many of which are in the environment. One study demonstrated, using a series of sophisticated techniques, that if brain cells were exposed to low levels of a pesticide there was little toxicity seen and that if you exposed these same brain cells to an immune stimulant alone, little damage occurred. But if you first exposed the brain cells to the immune stimulant, the same low dose of pesticide could destroy a great number of brain cells.

The importance of this observation was that the vaccine made the brain cells hypersensitive to the toxin so that even in concentrations that normally would do not cause harm, could wiped out most of the neurons. One of the strongest connections between an environmental toxin (pesticides) and a neurological disorder is with Parkinson’s disease. The reason it is more common in the elderly is that they have the highest levels of inflammatory cytokines. This also explains the high incidence of Alzheimer’s disease, which reaches incidences of 50% after age 80.

The link depression was also by accident. Doctors using immune cytokines to treat patients with cancer or hepatitis found that one third of the patients developed major depressive illness within days of the treatment and that it resolved only when the treatment was terminated. Other studies, in which inflammatory cytokine levels were measured in people with major depressive illness, also found most had high levels of these inflammatory chemicals.

To their surprise, they found that many of the antidepressant medications commonly used lowered inflammatory cytokines levels and that patients who failed to respond had the highest level of the cytokines.

So, how is this linked to excitotoxicity? Neuroscientists have known for some time that inflammatory cytokines cause the brain to release higher levels of glutamate –the more intense the inflammation, the higher the brain glutamate level. The highest levels are found in the prefrontal lobes and limbic system, the areas most related to mood control. MSG also increases brain inflammation.


Vaccination and Brain Inflammation


A great number of studies have shown that when you vaccinate an animal, the body’s inflammatory cytokines not only increase dramatically, but so do the brain’s inflammatory chemicals. The brain has its own immune system that is intimately connected to the body’s immune system. The main immune cell in the brain is called a microglia. Normally, these brain cells are lying throughout the brain in a resting state (called ramified). Once activated, they can move around, traveling between brain cells like amoeba (called amoeboid microglia).

In the resting state, they release chemicals that support the growth and protection of brain cells and their connections (dendrites and synapses). But when activated, they secrete a number of very harmful chemicals, including inflammatory cytokines, chemokines, complement, free radicals, lipid peroxidation products, and two excitotoxins –glutamate and quinolinic acid.

In essence, these brain immune cells are out to kill invaders, since the body’s immune system sent an emergency message that an invasion had occurred. With most infections, this phase of activation last no more than a few days to two weeks, during which time the immune system successfully kills off the invaders. Once that is accomplished, the immune system shuts down to allow things to cool off and the brain to repair what damage was done by its own immune system.

What researchers knew was that during this period of activation, people generally feel bad and that what they experience closely resembles depression –a condition called “sickness behavior”. Most of us have experience this when suffering from a viral illness –such things as restlessness, irritability, a need to get away from people, trouble sleeping, fatigue and difficulty thinking.

Studies have shown that there are two phases to this “sickness behavior”; one in which we have the flu-like symptoms and a later onset of depression-like symptoms that can last awhile. They have also shown that all of these symptoms are due to high levels of inflammatory cytokines in the brain, which come from activated microglia.

A number of studies have also shown that after age 50, people have exaggerated and prolonged “sickness behavior”, much more so than younger people. This is one of the reasons why many elderly hang onto flu symptoms for months after exposure.

There is also another immune phenomenon that plays a major role in vaccine-related brain injury. Researchers discovered that when you vaccinate an animal, the brain microglia immune cells turn on partially (called priming), that is, they are in a state of high readiness. If the immune system is activated again soon after (days, weeks to months), these microglia explode into action secreting levels of their destructive chemicals far higher than normal. This overreaction can be very destructive and make you feel very depressed.

Stimulating the immune system with a vaccine is far different than contracting an infectious illness naturally. Vaccines are made of two components –the agent you wish to vaccinate against –for example, the measles virus; and an immune system booster called an immune adjuvant. These adjuvants are composed of such things as aluminum compounds, MSG, lipid compounds and even mercury. Their job is to make the immune system react as intensely as possible and for as long as possible.

Studies have shown that these adjuvants, from a single vaccine, can cause immune overactivation for as long as two years. This means that the brain microglia remain active as well, continuously pouring out destructive chemicals. In fact, one study found that a single injection of an immune activating substance could cause brain immune overactivation for over a year. This is very destructive.


Flu Vaccines and An Expanding Vaccine Schedule for the Elderly


Public health authorities and physician societies are in an all out campaign to have every elderly person vaccinated every year with the flu vaccine as well as a growing number of newer vaccines. When I was practicing neurosurgery, the hospitals had an automatic written order on all older patients’ charts mandating a flu vaccine, unless it was countermanded by the physician, which I always did. Now, they are giving the shots in malls, tents and every available site they can muster. And worse still, using lies and scare tactics to frighten the elderly onto getting the shots (such as the bold lie of 36,000 elderly dying of the flu every year).

As you age your immune system, including that special immune system in your brain, releases significantly more inflammatory immune cytokines than when you were younger. This serves to prime the microglia, as discussed. So, when you get your first flu shot your microglia overreact and does so for a very long period –perhaps years. Many elderly report that the flu shot gave them the flu. Proponents of vaccines, retort with a condescending laugh, that it is impossible because the flu vaccine contains killed flu viruses. In truth, what these people are reporting is a prolonged, intense “sickness behavior” response to the vaccine. To the body, it is worse than getting the flu. Remember, no one is recording the number of elderly who die after getting the flu shot, especially if they die months later, which can happen with sickness behavior, especially if they have a preexisting chronic illness or are infirm.

Here is the shocking truth. With the elderly already having increased inflammatory cytokine levels both systemically and in their brain, stimulating these primed microglia so that a chronic overstimulation of the brain’s immune system is triggered, will not only increase their risk of developing one of the neurodegenerative diseases, but will also substantially increase their risk of developing major depression. Remember, this also increases their risk of suicide and even homicide dramatically.

Anxiety is a major problem with depression, and vaccinations will greatly worsen the condition. In fact, vaccination, especially multiple vaccinations, will maintain the brain in a state of inflammation that will be self-perpetuating, because the excess release of glutamate in the brain, as well as glutamate in the diet, will further enhance microglial activation and excitotoxicity.

Those who are prone to developing one of the neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease or Parkinson’s disease will be at a drastically increased risk as we have seen experimentally when even animals exposed to subtoxic concentrations of environmental toxins and vaccinated develop neurologic worsening.

Most people use pesticides in their home and studies have shown that the concentrations in homes are sufficient to trigger Parkinson’s disease in susceptible people. Vaccinations, as these studies have shown, will greatly increase risk. Most doctors are completely unaware of this important research.

You must keep in mind that “health authorities” urge the elderly to get the flu vaccine each and every year. This will keep the microglia in a primed and even activated state continuously. Recently, neurologists announced that the incidence of neurodegenerative disease had been grossly underestimated and that neurological diseases of aging were increasing at a frightening rate. They have no explanation. Over the last three decades the number of elderly receiving yearly flu vaccines has risen from 20% before 1980 to over 60% today.

If this were not depressing enough, now the public health authorities and medical specialty societies are adding a whole new set of vaccines for those above 50 years of age, including the pneumococcal and meningiococcal vaccines. What is being completely ignored by the promoters of these vaccines is the effect of multiple doses of immune adjuvant that accompany each of these vaccines.

Lets, say you see your doctor and he talks you into getting the flu vaccine, the pneumococcal and meningiococcal vaccine all during the same office visit. That way, he can save you extra office visits. What your doctor ignores is that he is giving you three doses of powerful immune adjuvant all in one sitting, which means that your body and brain are assaulted by a massive dose of powerful immune activators, which have been proven to activate the brain’s immune system to dangerous levels, even when given as a single dose. Proof of this mechanism exists not only in animal studies, but in humans as well.


Mercury and Aluminum


There are other ways that vaccines can cause havoc in the brain. Most vaccines contain aluminum compounds. A multitude of studies have shown that aluminum, especially if combined with fluoride, is a powerful brain toxin and that it accumulates in the brain. With each vaccine injection, a dose of aluminum is given. These yearly aluminum inoculations accumulate not only at the site of the injection, but travel to the brain, where it enters neurons and glial cells (astrocytes and microglia). A number of studies have shown that aluminum can activate microglia and do so for long periods. This means that the aluminum in your vaccination is priming your microglia to overreact. The next vaccine acts to trigger the enhanced inflammatory reaction and release of the excitotoxins, glutamate and quinolinic acid.

You must also appreciate that any infection, stroke, head injury or other toxin exposure will also magnify this inflammatory brain reaction initially triggered by your vaccines. Studies have now indicated that the more one’s immune system is activated the more like he or she will suffer from one of the neurodegenerative diseases.

Mercury is also a powerful activator of brain microglia and can do so in extremely low concentrations-in nanomolar amounts. Because of its numerous reactions with sulfhydral compounds in the body (which are ubiquitous), mercury can poison a number of enzymes both systemically and in the brain. Of special concern is the ability of mercury, especially ethylmercury (the kind found in vaccines called thimerosal) to inhibit the regulation of brain glutamate levels. (It does this by inhibiting the glutamate transfer proteins that control the removal of glutamate from outside the neuron, where it does its harm.)

In essence, mercury, in the concentrations being injected with vaccines, triggers excitotoxicity, increases brain free radicals and lipid peroxidation products, inhibits critical brain enzymes, inhibits antioxidant enzymes and impairs DNA repair ability. The flu vaccine contains enough mercury to do all of these things. You must keep in mind that each flu vaccine adds to the mercury supplied by your last vaccine, that is, it is progressively accumulating in your brain.

In addition, the aluminum in the vaccines also primes microglia and when combined with mercury is infinitively more toxic to the brain. Now, if this is not enough, we also have to consider the contamination of vaccines with foreign viruses and viral components. Studies have shown that this is not a rare occurrence, with up to 60% of vaccines being contaminated in one study of several major manufactured vaccines. When confronted with this fact, vaccine proponents just shrug their shoulders and say –“We don’t think these things are harmful.”

Yet, the studies say otherwise. It has been found that insertion of viral fragments, not even the whole virus, is sufficient to trigger the brain’s microglial system and subsequent excitotoxicity, leading to progressive brain degeneration. This is accepted to be the mechanism by which the HIV virus causes dementia in a great number of AIDS victims. Fragments of the virus (gp140 and Tat) are engulfed by the microglia and this triggers chronic brain inflammation and excitotoxicity. The herpes virus and measles virus can do the same thing.



Danger of Live Virus Vaccines


A number of studies have shown that live viruses used in vaccines can enter the brain and reside there for a lifetime. One such study, in which autopsied elderly were examined for the presence of the measles virus, found that 20% of the brains had live measles viruses and 45% of other organs were infected. These viruses were highly mutated, meaning that they could be just as potent as other measles viruses, but could be even more virulent. Worse, is that in most cases they cause a smoldering destruction of tissues without the obvious symptoms of infection, which has been shown in a number of studies.

Live virus vaccines are made using a process to attenuate the pathogenic or disease-causing virus by passing it through a series of cultures. The problem is that the reverse can also happen within the body. A number of studies have shown that when we produce free radicals in our body (and we produce tons of such radicals over a lifetime), it mutates the viruses residing in our tissues. This is what was found in the autopsy study I referred to above.

Likewise, these viruses can trigger brain inflammation and degeneration, which has been shown in a number of studies-that is, there exist a chronic degeneration of the brain over years or decades. Because it is so far separated from the time of the original vaccine, physicians just attribute it to old age or heredity, anything but the vaccines.

Virologists are also concerned that such mutated live viruses can also infect other people, leading to outbreaks of disease totally unsuspected by health authorities.


Conclusion


Current recommendations by the CDC for adult vaccinations include a total of 14 separate inoculations with infectious agents and powerful immune adjuvants. To be fair, some of these are for special medical risks and conditions, such as high-risk behaviors, illegal drug use and HIV infected individuals. If we eliminate these, women will be exposed to 10 inoculations and men 7, should they follow CDC guidelines, which doctors follow.

According to CDC recommendations, multiple vaccinations for a single disease are separated by no more than 4 weeks, which is close enough together to produce priming and subsequent hyperactivation of brain microglia. We have seen that this can trigger a smoldering process of brain inflammation and excitotoxicity that can not only result in depression, anxiety and high suicide rates, but can increase one’s risk of developing one of the neurodegenerative diseases as well.

We have also seen that in many cases a person will be injected with several vaccines during a single office visit and that this means their body is exposed to a very large dose of immune adjuvant. Compelling studies, using many animal species as well as humans, have shown that this overactivates brain inflammatory mechanism that can last for years.

In addition, several additives to vaccines, such as mercury and aluminum, are powerful brain toxins that are known to accumulate in the brain over years and can trigger brain inflammatory/excitotoxic mechanisms. Vaccine contaminants, such as bacteria, mycoplasma and viral fragments can also produce prolonged brain inflammation and neurodegeneration.

Because the elderly already have high levels of inflammatory cytokines, they are at a special risk. The very young (babies and small children) are at a high risk because their brains are undergoing the most rapid development at the very time they receive the greatest number of vaccinations –the first two years of life. In fact, they receive 22 vaccines during the first year of life, one of which contains a full pediatric dose of mercury. Like adults, they receive many inoculations (up to 9 inoculations) in one office visit. This is insane and in my estimation, criminal.

Nasal flu vaccines are even worse, because they introduce a live virus into the nasal passages, which can then travel along the olfactory nerves, which leads to the very part of the brain first and most severely affected by Alzheimer’s disease. A number of studies have shown that viruses and bacteria can pass along this route to the brain. In fact, in one study scientists sprayed a bacterium into the nose of mice and observed a rapid development of Alzheimer’s type plaques in the mouse’s brain.

So, what should older people do? First, studies have shown that the primary cause of immune deficiency in the elderly is purely dietary. The carotenoids, such as beta-carotene, alpha-carotene, canthaxanthin, lutein and lycopene significantly enhance the immunity of the elderly. Zinc, magnesium and selenium are also essential. One should also avoid omega-6 oils (the vegetable oils-corn, safflower, sunflower, canola, soybean and peanut oils), since they greatly enhance inflammation and depress immunity. The EPA component of fish oils (omega-3 oils) is also a powerful immune suppressant. DHA is not. A healthy immune system means that you can fight infections efficiently and rapidly.

Regular exercise, such as brisk walking or weight exercises three to five times a week also boost immunity, while extreme exercise suppresses immunity. Sugar and refined carbohydrates also suppress immunity and inflame the brain. Exercise protects the brain from aging effects and from degeneration.

Adequate sleep is also vital to both brain health and good immune function. Pubic health officials and spokesmen for the major medical societies are lying to the public concerning vaccine safety. We now possess sufficient information from a great number of studies to halt this disastrous vaccine policy. We are facing a medial disaster in this country, which is already well on its way.

Now why does Vaccine continue?
That vaccination continues to this day is not because of its 'assumed' benefits, but because it yields millions of dollars profit to the Drug Industry, because it is one of the foundation stones of Medical Science upon which they have undeservedly built their power and prestige, and for that reason, must remain in place, and because the majority of the public,

Preliminary Injunction to Halt Mandatory Flu Vaccination in the U.S. Has Been Issued

A Preliminary Injunction to stop mandatory vaccinations has been issued in the United States District Court of New Jersey. This comes after a federal lawsuit opposing forced vaccines was filed in that court by Tim Vawter, pro se attorney, on July 31st with the federal government as defendant. When the judge signs the Preliminary Injunction, it will stop the federal government from forcing anyone in any state to take flu vaccine against their will. It will also prevent a state or local government from forcibly vaccinating anyone, and forbid any person who is not vaccinated from being denied any services or constitutional rights. Vawter's filings included a Complaint, and several pages of evidentiary Exhibits.

Vawter's legal papers have been written not only for filing in federal court, but additionally so they can be looked at by activists around the world for ideas on filing lawsuits in their own countries to help stop forced vaccinations. Vawter believes that as the truth of the dangers of flu vaccines continues to become known, banning the forced use of them will eventually succeed on a worldwide basis. He cautions people to avoid fear and keep themselves focused on the task of blocking forced vaccination.

Preliminary Injunction will immediately halt mandatory vaccinations in the U.S.

The Court, having heard the Motion for Preliminary Injunction and read the papers in its support, states in the Preliminary Injunction that it appears the federal government has engaged in some amount of negligence with regards to failure to properly investigate the safety of the flu vaccines scheduled for use in late 2009-2010, and the evidence submitted does warrant a more thorough investigation into the safety of the flu vaccines.

The Court ordered that the government shall be forbidden from forcing any person to be required to take any influenza vaccination against that person's free will and free choice. The government will not allow any state or local government, or any party, to force any person to be required to take any influenza vaccination against that person's free will and free choice.

It is further ordered that the government shall not deny any constitutional rights to any person who has not received a flu vaccine, nor allow any doctor, company, or other party to deny any of these people services such as medical care, attending school, or similar services or freedoms, nor can the government allow any doctors, companies, or other parties, to deny any of these people their constitutional rights. The only exception to this, where a person who does not get a flu vaccination might be denied certain services, shall be after it is shown in a court of law, with clear and convincing evidence, on an individual case-by-case basis, where due process and a right to a defense is allowed. Only then can a person be denied a particular service because the person did not receive a flu vaccine.

U.S. government sued for gross negligence and violation of the Constitution

In his Cause of Action, Vawter charged that the federal government has engaged in gross negligence by funding and promoting flu vaccines that are proven to be dangerous and manufactured with little oversight. The vaccines scheduled for use in late 2009 and 2010 contain heavy metals including thimerosal mercury, which have been proven to cause autism in children with lowered immune systems, and other dangerous and toxic ingredients. The federal government has stated it will force these flu vaccines onto the American public against their will, under a document signed by Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.

He further charged that the vaccine makers stand to earn billions of dollars selling vaccines, and are already spending tens of millions advertising a "Phase 6 Pandemic" that the evidence shows does not really exist. The federal government has not required the World Health Organization (WHO) to show evidence of such a pandemic. There has been no collection of facts, sworn testimony, witnesses being questioned, hearings being held, or lie detector tests being given when preposterous statements have been made. The WHO declared a massive "Phase 6 Influenza Pandemic", even though only a few hundred people worldwide had so far died of this swine flu virus, and when far more people die each year of regular flu.

Vawter noted there is a preponderance of evidence to show that the federal government so poorly trained its employees that they eagerly agreed with the unsubstantiated claims of the WHO in the face of evidence to the contrary.

Forced vaccination would violate the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution by allowing the government to enter homes and force people to be vaccinated, or to forcibly remove people to another location for vaccination. It would also violate Fifth Amendment Constitutional rights by depriving people of liberty without due process of law.

Vawter charged that the federal government has engaged in gross negligence by failing to properly investigate factual evidence submitted by esteemed medical professions over many years which proves flu vaccines have caused serious damage to people. The CDC has stated that thimerosal mercury is being used in the new flu vaccines being prepared.

The government has failed to investigate profiteering. Billions of dollars in vaccine sales can cause organizations to falsify threats so as to cause unwarranted public hysteria leading to forced vaccinations.

The government is guilty of gross negligence because its employees failed to properly investigate the release of a case of live swine flu virus. One of the main companies the government deals with, Baxter Vaccines, was apparently involved in the transporting of live bird flu virus that was released on a public train earlier this year. A lab technician with the Swiss National Center for Influenza in Geneva had traveled to Zurich to collect eight ampoules, five of which were filled with the H1N1 swine flu virus. However, failure of the dry ice in their container allowed pressure to build up, and the ampoules exploded as the train was pulling into a station.

The highly reputable UK newspaper "the Telegraph" reported on July 2nd that flu vaccines tested on homeless people caused twenty-one of them to die.

Vawter charged there is a preponderance of evidence to show that government will not provide people being vaccinated with a list of the vaccine ingredients and possible negative side effects before they are vaccinated. Most of the public will not know this flu vaccine contains thimerosal mercury.

Vawter submitted an Order to force the government to publish vaccine ingredients and side effects, and to give this information to everyone who takes a flu vaccine, and do so at least 3 days prior to their vaccination. A denial of this order would violate Plaintiff's rights to demand the government obey the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution by requiring it to engage in freedom of speech. The First Amendment not only allows a citizen to have freedom of speech himself, but it allows a citizen to demand his government engage in freedom of speech when it is promoting the use of such as these vaccinations to the public.

The government proclamation stating a person cannot sue for any damages he receives from the flu vaccine, completely bypasses the congress and the court system in violation of the Seventh Amendment of the Constitution which grants the right to sue to recover for damages. Vawter submitted an Order to deem unconstitutional any proclamation, rule or similar law that forbids people from suing for damages resulting from the vaccines of 2009 and 2010.

Vawter is seeking damages of $100,000.00 as the result of suffering depression, extreme anxiety and emotional duress when his nephew began life as a healthy, happy baby boy, only to come down with autism after being given baby vaccines that contained thimerosal mercury. For years his nephew has struggled with this incredibly debilitating, preventable condition. According to Vawter, a claim may be submitted not only by his nephew, but by others who have suffered damages from vaccinations.

Vawter claimed that several rules and proclamations detailed in the lawsuit are unconstitutional and claimed that if they are not stricken and amended, he and other people who may not be aware of the offenses or who may be unable to sue, will suffer pending "injury-in-fact" damages. As attorneys and law firms join this lawsuit, recovery requests will reveal the names of additional people who have suffered injuries so they can be contacted about recovering damages, as the law allows.

Motion for Preliminary Injunction claims some vaccines may contain live virus

Although much of the Preliminary Injunction is a reiteration of information contained in his lawsuit, there are a few additions of note. Vawter includes in his grounds the fact that since the manufacturing of flu vaccines involves first destroying a live flu virus, there is a possibility that live flu virus will be in some of the vaccines, causing even more damages to people who receive it, and spreading the virus.

He asked the Court to use federal law enforcement to initiate its own civil and criminal investigation into flu vaccine safety issue, as federal law allows for this.

He noted the days when Hitler's Nazi doctors forcibly gave shots containing adjuvants to innocent people, and reminded that Nazi ideology was stamped out precisely because of those atrocities. He claims it is unwise for the U.S. government to follow in the same path as the Nazis. America is a nation of civil laws, not a dictatorship that gives proclamations bypassing the courts and congress to demand forced vaccinations containing hazardous ingredients known to cause damages.

The forced vaccination debacle of 1976 that the government had to halt because it was injuring more people than it was protecting shows vaccine makers should not be allowed to force their vaccines on people who have no recourse. The prohibition against lawsuits by the injured gives the green light to vaccine makers to include thimerosal mercury in their new flu vaccines. When the Order deeming the forbidding of lawsuits as unconstitutional is given, any defendant will have to present factual proof in federal court, not just hearsay or advertising slogans, as so why the Constitution says it is okay to forbid people from suing to recover damages resulting from flu vaccine.

Medical professionals argue flu vaccines harm not just certain people but almost everyone who receives them. Yet the government has ignored factual evidence proving this, and instead listens to a profit run group of vaccine manufacturers who stand to earn billions of dollars as the government orders forced vaccinations on the public for the coming flu season.

The government has published a chart listing the WHO's "Phase 6 Influenza Pandemic" as being equal to an earthquake measuring 8.0 on the Richter Scale. This chart is preposterous because there are no factual criteria required for an "Influenza Pandemic" to be declared by the United Nations' WHO. The United Nations is a collective of numerous nations, most of whom have very different laws than the U.S. has, and where their leaders can simply declare or proclaim things to be so without judicial review, and their population must obey.

Glaxo Smith Kline stands to make $4 billion from its two flu vaccine drugs. CEO Andrew Witty has said his company has been preparing for a flu pandemic for thee years and has spent over $1 billion to expand its factories. Executives from Glaxo, Baxter, Novartis, and Sanofi Pasteur had seats at the advisory group that on July 13th recommended mandatory H1N1 vaccination for everyone in all 194 countries belonging to the WHO.

The fear mongering involved with this Phase 6 alert has been intense. An example being spread by interested parties is the story of a girl in England purported by the WHO to have died of swine flu because she was not vaccinated. A more thorough investigation later revealed the girl actually died of septic shock due to tonsillitis. The WHO, CDC and numerous vaccine companies have been extensively advertising dire yet apparently concocted warnings of flu pandemics. Yet only a small number of people worldwide have died from the new flu virus.

When influential TV newscasters questioned the WHO proclaiming a "Phase 6 Influenza Pandemic" without factual evidence to prove it, the WHO responded by simply stopping their tracking of swine flu cases, a bizarre behavior on the part of an organization designated to be the main hub for information gathering on the disease.

DON'T PANIC! FLU TERROR IS A CON

THE panic over swine flu has left a bad taste in my mouth. There’s too much hype, too much scare-mongering and, for me, it has all been overblown. Why would anyone overstate the prevalence of such an illness? The answer is clear. Some individuals and some organisations benefit from scaring the living daylights out of us. So who could those individuals and organisations be?
Well, let me see, the Government and drugs giants Roche Holdings and British-based GlaxoSmithKline sure do, while the public are just left to panic. I cannot help thinking the politicians and drug makers are taking us all for a ride. I simply do not believe swine flu is going to kill 65,000 of us as Government advisers predict. I do believe getting us all in a tizz about travelling on public transport and having us all obsess about how we can get hold of Tamiflu and being first on the list for the forthcoming vaccination is simply a magnificent distraction from the real issues of the day.
I am not usually one for conspiracy theories but what it is, if you really want to know, is one big con. It is only my opinion and I have no advice for pregnant women, who were last week sent into apoplectic fear following cruel and contradictory Government advice, but I suspect many of you out there are thinking along the same lines as me and someone needs to come out and say it.
‘America is not worried but then there are more than three years to go to the next election’
Think about it. There are two fabulous reasons why swine flu is being touted as a forthcoming Armageddon.
First, it is a great diversion from the debacle of MPs’ expenses, the recession and the abject failures of Gordon Brown’s tawdry excuse for a government. In times of panic we traditionally allow nanny, or nanny state, to take care of us, just as we do in times of joy. So creating panic and confusion is a clever political move from Brown’s point of view as it allows him a sliver of a chance of retaining his job come next summer’s general election; all hail the mighty, the munificent Brown who has saved us all from the dreaded clutches of swine flu.
Second, there’s Swiss group Roche (Tamiflu) and Glaxo (Relenza) the makers of swine flu vaccines. There’s no better way for pharmaceutical companies to get through the recession than to create a pandemic. The bigger the pandemic, the bigger the demand for their drugs and the bigger their profits.

I just wish I had bought Roche shares before the World Health Organisation panicked itself into declaring a global pandemic; they are up 25 per cent since swine flu fever first hit, while financial experts predict Glaxo will profit to the tune of £1billion from its swine flu drug sales.
The fact that the Government has announced it will indemnify Roche and Glaxo against prosecution in case the hastily produced vaccine causes nastier side- effects than expected does not exactly fill me with confidence. You will not catch me or my family rolling up our sleeves for a fast-tracked vaccination, not with girls falling ill left right and centre after the introduction of Cervarix, the HPV vaccine that many experts feel has not been given adequate testing.

Been there; Done that

And that’s not to mention the fact that we have already been here before. If you do not remember back to 1976 then let me remind you; panic broke out in America when the government predicted a swine flu epidemic after the death of one soldier.
Well, the epidemic never materialised but the fast- tracked vaccine that was injected into 46 million people resulted in litigation from those who suff ered serious side-effects to the tune of £3.5billion. The vaccine was also blamed for 25 deaths. Two-thirds of the claimants suffered severe neurological damage and many were left paralysed for months, never fully recovering.
There is even a suggestion that the Government will shut all schools this autumn as that could reduce deaths by 45 per cent. What utter rot. I would not be surprised if the teachers are lobbying for that one themselves to get some extra time off. My son starts school in the autumn and if I’m forced to pay for expensive childcare to avoid taking months off work I am billing Brown and I urge you to do the same.
Even if you do get swine flu, all the real evidence suggests it will blow over in a few days unless you have underlying chronic health problems and in those circum stances even a mild bout of traditional flu can kill you.
Any death is a tragedy and the families of those people who have died from swine flu will rightly want to know what the Government is doing to protect the vulnerable. Yet that is just the point isn’t it? The vast majority of the population is healthy and quite capable of recovering.
Look at it this way, since January swine flu has claimed 429 lives worldwide, regular flu has killed 13,000 in America alone. Are you still worried now?
There is also plenty of evidence to suggest swine flu is not the end of the world. The words “swine flu” are almost never heard on American television now that the initial predictions of worldwide calamity have proved false. Perhaps they have learned from past mistakes but it is telling that a country with a population five times as large as Britain, dozens more densely populated cities and bordering Mexico where it all began, is not worried, is not panicking. Then again there are more than three years to go to the next general election so no need for President Obama to create a panic.

Conspiracy theory?

Maybe I’m wrong but I am more than confident that next spring the Government will be claiming its action beat swine flu and prevented a devastating loss of life; that that huge loss of life was never going to happen in the first place will be lost in the political spin.

Big Pharma has Lured Dems Into a Faustian Bargain

Big Pharma, whose lobbying winning streak shows no sign of ending, has lured Democrats into a Faustian bargain.

In exchange for a $150 million advertising campaign featuring a sadder and sicker Harry and Louise, drug industry lobbyists have quietly been handed almost everything they wanted out of health care reform legislation. Unless the Democrats on Capitol Hill rediscover their campaign rhetoric, the legislation:

- Will not allow Medicare to negotiate drug prices, a core Democratic demand promised by candidate Barack Obama

- Will not contain even a mildly restrictive drug formulary, where Medicare establishes a "don't buy" list of drugs where there clearly are cheaper and equally effective alternatives

- Will give Big Pharma and other provider interests a seat at the table when comparative effective research priorities get established, ensuring that medical arenas with huge potential for cost savings go unaddressed, and

- Will give biotech firms at least 12 ½ years of market exclusivity for their drugs before biogenerics are allowed to enter the market, extending their high-price marketing period beyond patent expiration if necessary.

Lobbying efforts pay off

Those who've long followed the drug industry lobbying in Washington won't be surprised by this outcome. This is an industry that has not suffered a serious lobbying defeat in more than quarter of a century.
Even the 2007 Food and Drug Administration reform bill, passed in the wake of the Vioxx fiasco, did not challenge the industry's core economic interests. Its major change, giving the FDA more power to insist on post-marketing safety surveillance, was a reform that was long overdue for an industry that has increasingly come to rely on blockbuster drugs whose long-term risks and long-term benefits are all too often nearly identical.

So now, come 2009, what have the Obama administration and the Democratic leadership gotten for giving in to every core industry "ask"? The $80 billion in drug industry "savings" over the next decade--announced with much fanfare in a White House Rose Garden ceremony two months ago--amounts to a mere 2 percent of the total drug tab over the next decade, which is still slated to grow at somewhere between 1 ½ to 2 times the rate of inflation--just like the rest of the health care economy.

Moreover, the promise came in the form of aid for some seniors, which does nothing to raise money for the uninsured. PhRMA promised to lessen the pain of the doughnut hole that many seniors fall into when their drug bills exceed $2,500 a year. That helps those individual seniors reduce their out-of-pocket expenses, but it's nothing to the bean counters at the Congressional Budget Office since it saves Medicare nothing.

Past is prologue here.

Since at least the mid-1980s, PhRMA has gotten just about everything it wanted out of Washington, ensuring that its share of the health care pie would grow even faster than health care as a whole. Drug expenditures are now about 12 percent of the nation's $2.4 billion health care tab, up from less than 8 percent in the 1980s.

How did that happen? In the late 1980s, the industry fought for and won an accelerated approval system for drugs that combat life-threatening diseases. It made sense at the dawn of the HIV/AIDS; it is questionable when used for cancer drugs that cost a small fortune but barely improve life expectancy if at all.

The Prescription Drug User Fee Act

In the 1990s, constant drug industry bellyaching about delays at the FDA led to passage of the Prescription Drug User Fee Act, which is reauthorized every five years. Besides the inherent conflict of interest of drug reviewers having their salaries depend on the companies whose products they're reviewing, it put those reviews under tremendous time pressure. The law gave the agency just one year to get a new drug application out the door.

Not surprisingly, over the next decade the industry was hit by a series of high profile recalls: Fen-Phen, Seldane, Rezulin, and, finally, Vioxx, where an estimated 40,000 to 100,000 people died from unnecessary heart attacks because they took a pricey arthritis painkiller no more effective than proven over-the-counter medications like ibuprofen or acetaminophen. It was a field day for investigative reporters and trial lawyers, not so good for patients and consumers.

Of course, those drugs wouldn't have won rapid "acceptance" in the marketplace if it hadn't been for the vast expansion of drug industry marketing that took place in the 1990s and continues to this day. New rules passed in 1997 enabled a vast expansion of direct-to-consumer (DTC) advertising on television. When reformers tried to put a few limits on DTC in the 2007 reform bill, drug industry lobbyists easily defeated their efforts, claiming the restrictions - which had been in place since the dawn of television - were an unconstitutional restriction on commercial speech.

Drug Pricing

And in this decade, as the storm over drug pricing emerged and the failure of Medicare to provide prescription drug coverage became a national scandal, the industry welcomed passage of the 2003 prescription drug benefit - as long as it didn't impose price controls or allow Medicare to negotiate prices or even set restrictive formularies.

Remember when seniors were climbing on buses to go to Canada to buy cheaper drugs? It was against the law then, and it's still against the law as Big Pharma beat back every effort to allow what are known in the trade as parallel imports from countries where drugs are cheaper because their governments aren't in the thrall of industry lobbyists.

Reformers were naïve if they thought the world had changed simply because there were new tenants in the majority offices on the Hill or in the White House. Even before President Obama's election, drug industry lobbyists had strategically shifted their campaign contributions to Democratic legislators who had won control of Congress two years earlier.

Before 2006, Democrats received just a third of Big Pharma's campaign contributions. Now they get well over half. Drug firms also recruited a new cadre of K Street lobbyists. The new firms that won their businesses included on the rosters former top aides to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Ways and Means chairman Charles Rangel, Senate Finance Committee chair Max Baucus and Senate Health Education Labor and Pensions chair Ted Kennedy.

The bottom line is that Big Pharma has had its way in Washington for a long, long time. And nothing in this year's health care reform battle indicates that its winning streak is about to end.
