Now that we have listed the homeopathic remedies relating to music it remains for us to make a connection between these remedies and the historical account of the influence of music given by Reed, in the first part of our Triptych, and in the possible help to the Autistic children into whose self-immolation Nordoff has admitted us as the Pied-Piper into the mountain.

There is a whole vast field in which different musical instruments could be studied in relation to the types of mental and emotional illness.

Thanks for your reply Heidi- I came across this handy bit just in time. Me-Gina again too much thinking- I have always asked myself:"why does certain type of music generate emotions in people,what makes us tick regards to the interaction of music?"..............And here we have a combination repertory analysis for us to use.
Love it if we could put ourselves into this conversation;
Lets start with me- I study the most complex books better when I am surrounded by really fast loud heavy metal music! (I even think that is a bit odd)If its too quiet I cannot study, cannot concentrate.

This is a wonderful starting point for a discussion. Thank you for posting. Sometimes I think I could not live without music, Gina. Besides listening to the radio, moving with the rhythm of music, I do love to sing. The only music not in my preference is heavy metal, sounds of cacophony, raucous screaming and screeching that some people consider music. Harmonious tones sound sweet. Many of my favorites are posted as videos here on HWC.

Music has definite links to our mind, therefore, the rubrics pertaining to music are extremely important.But these are useful only in those cases, where, very intense likings or aversions for music are present, and it comes voluntarily from the patient.We can't ask it as a leading question,during our case taking, since that admission may not carry any value in selection of remedy.

I agree,Ask an open ended question such as-" how do you feel about music?"-or "what is your reaction to music?"
The most difficult questions to ask in a casetaking are ;"are you sympathetic?"-Everyone says Yes!(even if they are not)
Another one- Have you ever had any STD's-Everyone says "NO"
Same applies to music-If you ask"do you like music?" 99% say;yes of course-

In my opinion, music coming from any source is a music. I had attended live concert,and listened the music through my ipod. Much depends upon my own mental conditions/status at that point of time, rather than the source.

Homoeopathy & Music : A very Good combination .If you go through the MIND section of Repertory , you will find so many informations ( already stated here ).
Music -several varieties,several modes,several types- do different action on the mind . Even by liking of perticular type of music helps to select a similimum.

Now by analysing -Liking of heavy metal music /can not concentrate + analysis of other sign n symptoms - you can reach to the states of a pt. means you can select a similimum on the basis of - The Mental Generals , The Modalities & even on the basis of The Constitution also .
Here the only difficult task is to find out the appropriate rubrics...
So some time Music help a lot to find out correct similimum...

-Rythmic Music ( Tabla,Pakhawaj,Drums & different Percussions ) are good for Truma,Paralysis,Artheritis,Asthama etc.
-Evening & Night Ragas/Western classicals are good for Stress n strain,Sugar problem,Sleep problem,Pregnency etc.
-Hard music is suitable for Sports persons , Creative persons during day time only.
