It's truly amazing what you will find on the internet that pertains to a discussion on HWC. The HOT TOPIC of this week has been all about miasms. A number of threads have dealt with the ability of the body to house two diseases at the same time. Or, in other words, for the body to 'host' two viruses or organisms. See below what I found this evening.
9. Malaria Drug Therapy
Despite its name, malaria therapy wasn’t used to treat malaria. Instead, the disease was used to treat the widely spread STD, syphilis. Before the early 1900s, no one had come up with any type of treatment that could be used in order to treat an STD. However, this is all changed when Wagner-Jauregg, a Viennese neurologist, decided that it may be helpful to treat those infected with syphilis by using malaria-infected blood. Though this seems extremely dangerous, the neurologist believed that by giving someone malaria, the high fever would be able to get rid of the syphilis bacteria that was in the body. Then, since there was a treatment for malaria, the patient would be given quinine which got rid of both viruses. In 1927, Wagner-Jauregg was given the Nobel Prize for the inoculation of malaria, and his treatment was widely used until penicillin was discovered as a medical treatment.

Today only I had a chance to read your article. This is true. Before the invention of antibiotics, ‘Fever therapy’ was given to Tertiary Syphilis patients. Here the patients were kept in Malarial ward among Malaria patients. As a result they will develop high fever with rigor. After four or five paroxysm of fever they will be removed from the malarial ward and given anti- malarials like Quinine derivatives to get rid of malaria.
Here we should understand that ‘Fever is a defence mechanism; in case of infection our Immune System (from Hypothalamus) produce heat to destroy the pathogenic organism. At the same time immunity against the particular organism generated. this is the natural way of gaining Immunity against the common organisms prevalent in the atmosphere.
But now a days antipyretics like Paracetamol and other drugs are widely liberally used to abort fever. By this way we are not at all allowing the people to gain Immunity in natural way against the common organisms prevalent in the atmosphere.
Basically this is the main cause for Immuno deficiency at Global level.

Dr. so tell me please, use of Paracetamol in case of fever is justifiable or not, it is in favour of patient or not.

Dear Dr. Habib Khan,
Thanks for your Question. It is not justifiable to use any Antipyretics like Paracetamol in case of fever. In case of infection, our Immune system starts its work against the pathogen. If the system is too weak to fight against the pathogen (otherwise if the pathogen is more violent one to the invaded Organism) the war will continue without an end. Here, the medicines like Paracetamol will stop fever, only by suppressing the immune reaction. This will be favour one for the pathogens.
Then it will be a question, 'what should be done for high fever?'
Here, when giving Homoeopathic medicine, the Similar medicine will help the Immune System to fight against the pathogens successfully in gaining immunity against them.
If we are not sure about our selection regarding Similar medicine to the patient, to avoid unnecessary complications to him due to continuous high fever, we are forced to give antipyretics to give temporary relief.

In addition, thermotherapy or heat therapy can be used to raise the temperature of the body to kill off germs or to warm sore muscles.
Heat therapy, also called thermotherapy, is the application of heat to the body for pain relief and health. It can take the form of a hot cloth, hot water, ultrasound, heating pad, hydrocollator packs, whirlpool baths, cordless FIR heat therapy wrap, and many others. It can be beneficial to those with arthritis and stiff muscles and injuries to the deep tissue of the skin. Heat may be an effective self-care treatment for conditions like rheumatoid arthritis.
Heat therapy is most commonly used for rehabilitation purposes. The therapeutic effects of heat include increasing the extensibility of collagen tissues; decreasing joint stiffness; reducing pain; relieving muscle spasms; reducing inflammation, edema, and aids in the post acute phase of healing; and increasing blood flow. The increased blood flow to the affected area provides proteins, nutrients, and oxygen for better healing.
Heat therapy can be used for the treatment of headaches and migraines. Many people who suffer from chronic headaches also suffer from tight muscles in their neck and upper back. The application of constant heat to back/upperback area can help to release the tension associated with headache pain. In order to achieve heat therapy for headaches, many use microwaveable pads which can often overheat, potentially leading to injury, and lose their heat after a few minutes. A new product called SootheAway uses heated water, running through pads, to maintain a constant temperature, allowing headache sufferers to use hands-free heat therapy in the treatment of their headache pain.
Thermotherapy may also be used in vine propagation to get rid of viroids (particles smaller than viruses) which may affect the new vine.

Hyperthermia in Cancer Treatment
# What is hyperthermia?
Hyperthermia (also called thermal therapy or thermotherapy) is a type of cancer treatment in which body tissue is exposed to high temperatures (up to 113°F). Research has shown that high temperatures can damage and kill cancer cells, usually with minimal injury to normal tissues (1). By killing cancer cells and damaging proteins and structures within cells (2), hyperthermia may shrink tumors.
Hyperthermia is under study in clinical trials (research studies with people) and is not widely available (see Question 5).
How is hyperthermia used to treat cancer?
Hyperthermia is almost always used with other forms of cancer therapy, such as radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Hyperthermia may make some cancer cells more sensitive to radiation or harm other cancer cells that radiation cannot damage. When hyperthermia and radiation therapy are combined, they are often given within an hour of each other. Hyperthermia can also enhance the effects of certain anticancer drugs.
Numerous clinical trials have studied hyperthermia in combination with radiation therapy and/or chemotherapy. These studies have focused on the treatment of many types of cancer, including sarcoma, melanoma, and cancers of the head and neck, brain, lung, esophagus, breast, bladder, rectum, liver, appendix, cervix, and peritoneal lining (mesothelioma). Many of these studies, but not all, have shown a significant reduction in tumor size when hyperthermia is combined with other treatments. However, not all of these studies have shown increased survival in patients receiving the combined treatments.

I am further interested in the use and action of these drugs for malaria and fever; and how the homeopathic approach differs. And, what to do when there is high fever that is in the danger zone, when homeopathy is not available or when remedy selection does not abate fever?
