Hi,
Is there any specific Remedy to postpone the menses? As a Female Doctor I faced such question especially from people who want to attend their Religious Customs.

Homoeopathy for sure doesn't have any specific medicine to pre pone menses. Rather Homoeopathy doesn't even think in this direction.
But no worries, conventional medicines do have such specifics, with many side effects. Also Allopathic Available medicines, which are being used for pre pone the menses, instruct one to take medicine at least 15 days prior to the requirement. 2-3 cycle shall become erratic after the use of such medicines.
Further in old days when such medicines were not available, how the religious ceremonies were being performed?
Some where i read that SECALE fits the bill ; It may need further verification."abortive medicine"
Dr Wequar. Please let me learn the method for selecting a specific medicine for pre pone the menses in Homeopathic therapeutics.

Also since the conventional medical companies are already offering these formulation, why should we imitate them.

You may agree with me that Homeopathic thinking of curing the disease is diagnostically opposite to the suppressive methods of Allopathy, therefore thinking of altering the physiological functioning may not coincide with our basic laws.
Ma'am
what I think is
Homoeopathy is natural pathy,
Therefore it does not goes against nature....
All the diseases are cured following nature only not going against nature..
and abortion is against nature therefore I dont think that homoeopathy can work in this respect,
With regards
Priya
Homeopathy can definitely cure all types of menstrual problems. That means, it can also alter the normal menstrual cycle in a healthy woman. Most of the female remedies are indicated, but there is no specific medicine that can be given to postpone the menses. This is because: Giving a homeopathic medicine to a prover and a real patient is different. When we give natrum mur to a real natrum mur patient, we are sure that it will act. On the other hand, when we give the same natrum mur to a prover, we are not sure about the symptoms. She may on may not respond to natrum mur. If she responds,we cannot predict about the type of symptoms. When we give a homeopathic medicine with an intention to post pone menses, the person who receives the medicine is just like a healthy prover. So how can we give with surety? It is just like giving Causticum 200 to paralyze one person. We can cure a person with surety, but proving is not possible!

Apart from hormones, the menstrual cycle can be suppressed by climatic changes and
worries, changed situation and mental trauma. This is just a situational response, but cant be used for a person who needs to postpone the periods.

I also get many request to give medicine to postpone the periods. Usually I advice that use of hormones is not good for health, especially when repeatedly taken for a long time. But there are certain situations for a woman to postpone the periods. Under such situations, I refer them to a modern medical doctor. It is the best choice, or else the patient will go to a medical shop and take the hormones without a prescription.
Dr Rafeeque, I am happy to note that You are talking on Homoeopathic lines. But here the problem is still more complicated , they are discussing, how to Pre pone the menses and not postpone.
I think my comments are applicable to both - prepone or postpone the periods.

But I have got result with senecio aureus Q in case of suppressed menses. It can induce menses, but may take nearly 10 to 15 days. But, I had many failures also. An occasional good result does not compensate for the failure. Why should we try homoeopathy for such cases, especially when the person needs result for a particular duration of time.

Please note the story of my friend: Somebody had told him that Natrum mur 200 can prevent pregnancy when taken by the male partner, 2 hours before bedtime. When he got married, he followed this - believe me, his wife started eating raw mangoes and pickles within a few months! Why should we give homeopathy non homeopathically?
Thank you for this differentiation between a homeopathically selected remedy to act on a diseased person versus a remedy given to act on one who does not require said remedy [as in a proving]
Dear Dr.

As a part of suggestion to your question - Jonosia Ashoka - Q ( 10 drops tds ) is one of the medicines preceded by Puls 1m ( one dose ) that may help to postpone menses .
This is not a 100 % remedy , but a probable one that has HELPED me in few and also FAILED me in some , Yet in need , it can be considered .
But As mentioned by most Dr's here , i would agree with them that :
* " Its best NOT to interfere with nature !!! "
* Since Homeopathic medicines work in natural way and not in opposition to it __ Results to such cases can never be guaranteed .
