Creating Waves of Awareness
12 cured cases of Kidney stones, the prescription was only one. No long hours of case taking and total relief. This happened in this one year alone after I had let out this prescription on Progressive group.
CALC-C 1M one dose every Sunday.
Berberis-v 30 one dose daily from Tuesday to Friday.
For 12 weeks.
What was the basis :
The patient had come to me from Coimbatore, where the doctors advised her to undergo operation to remove the 12mm stone.

Thank for all the comments.
I have presented my observation, homoeopathy is very unique, as u all know, in being very specific for specific person with his/her disease. Many of our stalwarts have grouped remedies under Kali-group, Natrum-group, Calc-group and so on. There is logic in that. Its not just for easy study and easy remembrance, but also for easy clinical use when needed.
Also, if u have a close look at the persons who get renal or gall calculi, u will know why the remedies work so well.
I get many messages like this,
hi sir
mene aapka vo stone vala formula use kiya ....
its really works
Dr Tahir Hussain, You have furnished a very convincing justification for applying your ‘stone formula’ if we may so call it, for successfully tackling renal stone cases. We find these renal stone cases are very common and abundant especially as we come across them in this part of the world. No wonder suffers have similar constitution life style and food habits, as you explained about people of Malappuram. So the remedies Cal Carb & Berb may be acting like Genus epidemicus. Any way nothing succeeds like success. We can always learn from experience.
We must thank you for sharing your experience.
Dear Dr. Tahir Hussain,
Thank you for sharing your experiences.
I just want to share my recent most experience in treating a client suffering with renal calculi. As per case taking Nux vomica seemed perfect remedy, lot of mental stress, ineffectual urge to pass urine and stool, indigestion, highly irritable, worse 3 or 4 am etc. Gave Nux vomica 200, 1M and even 10M no relief. Also gave berberis Q. The pain was on right side excruciating and not tolerable and patient was very impatient and restless, so gave Medorrhinum as a intercurrent remedy (better by knee chest position, restless feet, irritable, bubbling in right kidney region, passing of stone in ureters etc) where in the past he got instant relief from severe renal pain where he was suppose to be admited in the emergency room, but got better with in 1-2 hrs by just medorrhinum as the symptoms matched but this time it didn’t give relief.
The patient couldn’t tolerate the pain, so was admitted in the emergency and at hospital they gave morphine to relieve the pain.
After that, he was given calcarea carb 1M split dose and plussing potency a few doses and finally he passed the stone of 6X8 mm. He has craving for eggs, fatty, oily food and has calcarea constitution.
Thanks to Homeopathy for rescuing the patient from surgery.
Regards,
Kavitha
Dear Dr. Kavitha,
Your prescription of Cal Carb was of course well indicated, matching the patient’s constitution & complaint. Please elaborate your having given CC IM in “split dose & plussing potency”
Your application of Medorrhinum as intercurrent remedy was quite interesting and educative. Well done.
Dear Dr Kuldip,
Sorry for delay in getting back to you. In general I follow Organon 5th & 6th edition with respect to remedy administration, since the remedy is given in water, I prefer split dose (where there is need for repetition) and plussing (where you increase the dose slightly every time it is administered). With the same concept I have given CC 1M, for this client in emergency condition.
This client has received in the past Bereberis 30c, Sarsaparialla 30 & 200, Lyco 200, 1M and LM, and couple of other remedies were given based on the symptom totality that was considered at that time and also considering the person as a whole. I follow classical homeopathy where single remedy is administered at a time with single/minimum dose.
Those remedies helped him with relieving pain momentarily and even he expelled the stone. The problem I noticed with this client is every time he gets the acute symptoms of renal calculi even though the symptoms point to one of the above remedy symptoms he couldn’t get instantaneous relief, so considered Medorrhinum as intercurrent remedy and it helped him in coping with his emergency in the past.
Obstacle to cure here is- this client (he is also moderately to severe diabetic) is related to me so treating one’s own near and dear one’s is tough as you know them very well and can’t judge properly. More over they may not provide you all symptoms and even extracting symptoms from them is hard. Not only that even we have to bear their suffering depending up on how close they are related to us. In addition to that maintaining causes like diet, life style, sedentary habits, lot of mental stress etc became obstacle in treating this client.
Regards,
Kavitha
Dear Dr. Kavitha.
You have explained very clearly all the course of homeo treatment that you carried out on your patient. It also reveals your meticulously following the classical approach. I must say again your application of Medorrhinum as intercurrent remedy in the instant case was a superb thought. Treating someone closely related is of course quite an uncommon predicament, I also had occasions to confront similar situation. All said and done, you have handled the case quite intelligently.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
You are most welcome. Best wishes, Kavitha

Permalink Reply by Dr. Sayed Tahir Hassan on September 26, 2011 at 9:39am I don't think It is a homoeopathic treatment.
What about our law "Single remedy, Minimum dose"?
But we sometimes treating some disease (not patients !) using Therapeutics.

But Calc-c is not the only medicine in Homoeopathy to treat renal calculi.
