Creating Waves of Awareness
Do you know anyone who lives in this region? Have you visited this "utopian" society that accepts the water cycle and has learned to use roots of trees to grow bridges?
Showing respect for nature and teaching generational respect for life
At the base of India's Meghalaya Plateau, the local tribes have created bridges across the area's rivers using living tree roots and branches. These bridges live up to 500 years. Each generation learns how to train the roots to create a web so strong even the monsoon rains and torrents will not wash them away. The trees act as their live line and their highway in the sky.
Even some scientists, ecologists and environmentalists have begun to get the hint and re-evaluate their approach to healing the earth and eliminating pests and disease.
"A critical example is a developing model of infectious disease that shows that most epidemics — AIDS, Ebola, West Nile, SARS, Lyme disease and hundreds more that have occurred over the last several decades — don’t just happen. They are a result of things people do to nature." NYT
A theory not new to homeopaths, because Samuel Hahnemann explained that we examine and observe the results and effects of disorder and disharmony of the 'vital force,' not the other way around. The pests, disease and symptoms are not to be eliminated to cure. Rather, we must go to the source - the vital force - to find what needs to be healed.
Finally, the scientists declare that 60% of today's emerging human infectious diseases originate in animals because we have tampered with their environments; and over 2/3rds of those diseases come from wildlife. We have been invading THEIR harmonious living space. We have tampered with nature. In a way, we opened the pandora's box to contagious disease.
Recently, the west has been dealing with raging forest fires. Discussions as to the best approach for healing these preserves and human communities abound. Do we let nature take its course or do we try to stamp out all forest fires? Do we let the tides wash up to the shores and wipe out towns, or do we build barricades and damns?
In comparison, with the fury and power of water, we have a daring rescue from Niagara Falls in the midst of winter. The frigid cold waters who must be numb to all sensations awakens from the daring suicide attempt, as others risk their lives to save a complete stranger.
Water Man Poem
Water has the power to heal
Water can wash away mountains
Water can cast a life down
Water can refresh the soul
Water has magical powers
Man's power lives in harmony
Man can work with the mountains
Many can bring a life up
Man can search his soul
Man has magical powers
