Creating Waves of Awareness

I'm very bussy with different experiments of using homeopathy in our vinyard. Fungal diseases are a great problem especcially in a cool and wet climate like Holland. For me its not so easy to diffferentiate wich remedie is the best. Last monday I used a brixmeasure to make my choice to treat mildew in de small grapes after a lot of rain. I was doubting about to use silicea or equisetum. Equisetum gave the highest brix so I used this with good results.

Are there more people who use the brix to make their choice?

At what stage do you take the brix readings? (I assume you have must have some grapes there to measure.) What would you do if the plants had no fruit but the mildew was threatening? Can you get brix readings without fruit? Did the equisetum give you the best mildew control as well as a higher sugars?

There are a few remedies out there that have given superb brix increases at the ripening stage even when the skies are a little dull and cool, and one which increases dry matter whilst minimising fruit split which is really interesting for those producing table fruit and those who will get rots in burst fruits in the ripening phase. (Interestingly they also increase root crop yield.)

Sorry to have more questions than answering your own question.
Hello Mark,

you can do the brixreading when the plants have leaves. You have to press some drops from crushed leaves. When I'm doubting about wich remedie I have to use I do a brix reading from the leaves before using homeopathy and I do a brixreading of different plants who are sprayed with different remedies. After 10-20 min you can do a brixreading again of the different plants and you see what your remedies had done. The plant with the remedie with the highest brix will be my choice. The higher the brix, the healthier the plants. The equisetum gave me the highest brix and the best mildew control. Please read more about brix http://www.highbrixgardens.com/what-is-brix.html
I hope I gave you the answers you wanted to know.

Greetings,
Wilma
This is very interesting. Do you have some idea of the brix response over time? You must get a quick change to notice a difference within 10 - 20 minutes. Does the level go high and then plateau, or fall away? Are the differences quite noticeable?

This sounds like a potentially very very useful way of selecting remedies!

Thanks

PS 'leaves' is better than 'leafs' and thanks for communicating in English.
Hello Mark,

unfortunately the brix go high but after a few days its falling away. Today I was doing a brixmeasure again. Before the remedie the brix was 8,9. Then I used Equisetum 30K, Equis 200K, Silicea 30K and Calcium-carb 30K. I thought that Silicea would give the highest brix because its a complementairy remedie of Equis and a mineral but the brixmeasure gave again the highest brix with Equis 30K. After Equis I saw that the mildew has stopped and I was doubting if I saw a little recovery... After the brixmeasure we used Equis 30K again and we are waiting to see whats happening. I will let you know...

Thank you for your reaction.

Greetings,
Wilma
Hello Mark,

Sorry for my english writings. I see that I wrote about leaves which shoot be leafs of course...

greetings,
Wilma
Hi Wilma,

can you explain what is the brix measure?
Hi Vaikunthanath,

I found an article where the explain what a brix measure is http://www.documentation.emersonprocess.com/groups/public_public_mm... and see also http://www.highbrixgardens.com/what-is-brix.html I Hope this will give you more information. Its verry interesting to see what a homeopathic remedie does with the brix. Perhaps its an objective way to see if a homeopathic remedie will work.

Ok. Thanks.

The best remedy for your plants is Ricinus communis, which can be used as a homoeopathic potency in the 6X. It is made from the natural companion to all vine crops. It protects both against diseases and pests.

Hi Kaviraj,

OK. We will try this in the new season. The biggest problem last year was the fungal disease perenospera and later botrytis because of the large amount of rain in august and sept. Do you think that Ricinis communis is the best treatment for these problems?

greetings, Wilma

Hi Wilma, Possibly the best is Ricinus, but if you find it insufficient, Silicea or carbo veg can also do the trick. I consider the circumstances to be the deciding factor and this includes the soil in which the plants grow as one of the most important things to consider.
Hi Kaviraj, Thank you for your reaction. Silicea and carb-veg are verry usefull in a vinyard. I ve used them last year. They helped but not enough. Do you have experiences of using nosodes made of botrytis and peronospera? I don't have.

Nah, Wilma, I have no experience with them. I have noticed that nosodes sometimes work and sometimes not. It depends on what nosode for what problem. With insect pests they almost never work.

I have not had the time lately to make any remedies. So I have no experience wth remedies made from fungal diseases. I recommend using Ricinus communis.
