                                          Varicocele
Case treated by Dr J.C. Burnett
When practising in Chester I treated a patient at the Chester and North Wales Homoeopathic Dispensary for varicocele. The subject was an Irish workman of herculean stature, and who had syphilis; after getting rid of most of the manifestations of this vile malady, I set to work at the varicocele. In this case Fluoric acid was indicated, not only on account of the dilated spermatic veins, but because of the moist palms and loss of hair. Indeed Acidum fluoricum is no mean anti-syphilitic remedy in the later manifestations, such as loss of hair, whitlows, and bone disease; so this was given for a number of weeks with very marked benefit, the varicocele having considerably diminished.

At this stage the man ceased attending, having gone on a drinking bout, as I subsequently ascertained.

Fluoric acid : Sexual Symptoms of males

Male: Erections, with desire and voluptuousness,
 - The first erections again of very long duration, and quite healthy nature, and without sexual desire(eleventh morning),
 - Frequently a complete and quite natural erection during perfect health; as soon as his thoughts are removed from it, it entirely disappears more rapidly and suddenly than usual
 - Sensation of fulness in both spermatic cords(first evening)
 - Drawing from the left testicle to the spermatic cord
 - Occasionally stitches ad drawing through the left testicle to the abdominal ring and spermatic cord.

- Varicocele,
 - Sexual desire increased during the action of Fluoricum acidum,
 - * Sexual passion increased, with erections at night during sleep,
 - Increase of sexual desire with a complete erection, which, however, soon disappeared
 - Elderly persons had often attacks of venereal desire and erections, and the exercise of this function seemed not to be injurious to them,
 - * Sexual passion strong, with violent erections all night, ad desire to cohabit,
 - Great excitement of the sexual desire
 - Almost irresistible attack of lasciviousness, more in the case of old than young men,
 - Lascivious thoughts now and then during fifth and sixth weeks, so that he must force himself to think of other things.
 - * Highly excessive enjoyment and pleasure during coition, which was not the case before, [a8].
 - Sexual passion more easily controlled
 - Diminished sexual desire in various degree
 - Sexual desire lost, or more easily controlled
 - It seemed as if his desire was disappearing for several weeks, he is complete master of his thoughts and sensations,
 - While thinking in a perfectly chaste and pleasant way about a girl whom he considers beautiful, there passed some drops of prostatic fluid,
 - Seminal discharge not so quick and early as usual, but free and without any bad after-feeling,

Understanding Hydrocele & Varicocele

Hydrocele is a condition of excessive accumulation of fluids with the scrotal sack. The testicles appear distinctly swollen in this condition, many times swollen to the extent that the patient cannot walk properly. This can be a painful condition and the excessive pressure induced by the accumulated fluids impairs functioning of the internal passage that directs sperm movement. This condition is known to cause temporary phases of male impotency. Hydrocele usually happens after an extreme physical trauma and is usually resolved with a minor surgery.

A more severe form of testicular swelling is called varicocele. Here, some of the veins along the testicle develop a highly swollen and tender state. The increasing pressure of the swollen tissues disrupts the flow of blood within the testicular tissues, causing build-up of seminal fluids and blood, which adds to the swelling. The scrotum becomes swollen and the condition is often associated with lowered sperm count.

Understanding Fluoric Acidum Usage

The main use of this homeopathic medication in treating the above-listed conditions is due to its ability to alleviate the swelling associated with testicular tissues. Also called Hydrofluoric acid or Fluoricum acidum, fluoric acidum is used in varying potencies in homeopathic treatment. One of the main active ingredients in Hydrofluoric acid is fluorine. Fluoric acidum alleviates the testicular swelling in various ways.

Firstly, it acts upon the muscle fibers. It is known to augment the endurance levels of muscle fibers. This is important since the fibrous bands form a part of the testicular tissues that are overstretched during testicular swelling. Secondly, it is also known to alleviate the abscesses or discharge associate with varicocele.

The utility of fluoric acidum in treating varicocele is underlined by the fact that it is used in similar treatments wherein there is an enlarged vein or varicose veins. This includes varicose veins along the coccyx and swelling caused due to developing tumors. Other examples include dental fistulas that are among the most common applications of fluoric acidum wherein this homeopathic remedy aids the discharge of pus or fluids encaged within the fistula.

Dr.Ravindra,

Hydrocele is the accumulation of clear fluid within the tunica vaginalis or some part of processus vaginalis. The testis never swells in hydrocele. It is palpated posteriorly if the hydrocele is small. If the hydrocele is large , the testis is not palpable and a ultrasonography has to be done to know its position.

Hydroceles may also be caused by inflammation or injury of the testicle or epididymis, or by fluid or blood blockage within the spermatic cord. This type of hydrocele is more common in older men.
Yes that is known as secondary hydrocele, i.e. secondary to any cause. But primary is idiopathic.

Varicocele :

A varicocele is an enlargement of the veins within the scrotum, the loose bag of skin that holds your testicles. A varicocele
is similar to a varicose vein that can occur in the leg.

Varicoceles are a common cause of low sperm production and decreased sperm quality, Varicocele
forms when the valves inside the veins in the cord prevent your blood
from flowing properly. The resulting backup causes the veins to widen.
Varicoceles also can cause testicles to shrink

A varicocele often produces no signs or symptoms. Rarely, it may cause pain. The pain may:

*Vary from dull discomfort — a feeling of heaviness — to sharp

*Increase with sitting, standing or physical exertion, especially over long periods

*Worsen over the course of a day

*Be relieved when the patient lie on your back

Hydrocele :

A hydrocele is a fluid-filled sac surrounding a testicle that results in swelling of the scrotum, the loose bag of skin underneath the penis. Adult men can develop a hydrocele due to inflammation or
injury within the scrotum.

Usually the only indication of a hydrocele is a painless swelling of one or both testicles. Men with a hydrocele may experience discomfort
from the heaviness of a swollen scrotum

For baby boys, a hydrocele can develop in the womb. Normally, the testicles descend from the developing baby's abdominal cavity into the
scrotum. A sac (processus vaginalis) accompanies each testicle, allowing
fluid to surround the testicles.

In most cases, each sac closes and the fluid is absorbed. However, if the fluid remains after the sac closes, the condition is known as a
noncommunicating hydrocele. Because the sac is closed, fluid can't flow
back into the abdomen.

Communicating hydrocele, the sac can change size or, if the scrotal sac is compressed, fluid can flow back into the abdomen.

In older males, a hydrocele can develop as a result of inflammation or injury within the scrotum. Inflammation may be the result of infection
of the small coiled tube at the back of each testicle (epididymitis) or
of the testicle.
