"......A long symptom is more highly expressive than many short ones, and often flashes forth a soul desire or distress so naturally and decisively that we should never begrudge the labour of getting it. Most drug symptoms seem to belong to some organ or other; nausea, for instance, is mostly referred to the stomach, cramps to the muscles, etc., etc. When, however, they seem unaccountably out of place, they should, of course, attract our attention, as this very fact puts them in the first rank. In so doing it however points out the location for which the drug in question has a particular affinity. The power which a particular drug may have over some one symptom is sometimes very great, as witness the energy with which Ipecac stops the vomiting of tubercular meningitis without affecting the course of the disease in the least. This is more than a very pronounced illustration of suppression, for it shows the particular direction in which Ipecac. acts most prominently. It also points the fact that we may use such predominating effects in a palliative way, as most of us have done with Arsenic, Lachesis, and a few other remedies; but it should also make us doubly careful that we may not be guilty of suppressing whole disease processes by following the lead of some great keynote too abjectly. Nothing short of the whole case can indicate the truly curative medicine........"

I think still we live in Hahnemann's age, when even bacteriology was not born, The wage "SUPPRESSION", "KEY NOTE Symptoms" "PALLIATION" the "WHOLE CASE" etc worlds are being used to by those who do not understand the disease process. What Boger has said in a good taste for "DIAGNOSIS" as on those days the medical knowledge is not that advance as it today, but all stall warts like Master Hahnemann and his followers of those days can correctly diagnose a case on the basis of "TOTALITY OF SYMPTOMS". Even during Cholera Epidemic Hahnemann had a observation that workers in copper mines don't get cholera and advised Cup.Met the Cholera remedy.

The case Taking should be correct; diagnosis is the part of case taking as well history, symptoms, causative factors, Modalities & Mental symptoms etc.

There are more then 36 methods of prescribing and "SUPPRESSION" is one of them.Each and very method advised by masters are correct in their respective way. Which ever suits to the patient is the BEST. Keep yourself update everyday; what is good coming in Medical Science daily.Think Beyond Hahnemann.

Use every knowledge for the benefit of the suffering humanity without any bias and not for just Discussions & Discussions and to create a confusion or to create a score over others.

Here we see the difference between case analysis of Boger and Kent, as Boger repeatedly stresses the importance of the affected organ. By adding the family history of the patient he got insight into genetic dispositions and selected a deep acting remedy. Likewise he compiled the Synoptic Key by putting the Locations and Modalities on top of the Synopsis (MM-Part of the book). According to Boger the Locations and Modalities are of uttermost importance, mental aberrations do confirm the choice of the remedy. He follows Boenninghausen by saying that the mental state is very difficult for the physician to gather, so that mental symptoms could easily lead to confusion. But he also points out that the leading indications could present themselves on different levels, e. g. mental sphere, location, modality, sensations, causation. So there are many ways to choose the remedy. The affected part however belongs to the general aspects of our remedies and should not be neglected.

Boger and Boenninghausen both are right.Kent is also right but only few people can get him.He was a great homeopath.
