Equivalency of DHMS with BSc
Many efforts have been made so far to get equivalency of DHMS at par with BSc Degree. However, the matter is in doldrums so far.
Latest news about the equivalency is that a hearing was held in the office of Federal ombudsman's , Islamabad on May 27, 2009. This was in connection with the petition filed by Dr MAS and others.
Following Department were called by the Federal Ombudsman to present their view point.
1. Ministry of Education ( Curriculum Wing)
2. Ministry of Health
3. National Council for Homeopathy Pakistan
4. Higher Education Commission
5. Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC)
A group of following Doctors from different parts of the country made their presentions before the learned council.
From Gujrat
Dr MAS, Dr Anjum Noor Din, Dr Liaqat Ali Mehr, Dr Safdar and others
From Gujar Khan
Dr Mumraiz
From Sargodha
Dr Sanaullah Ranjha
From Bahawalpur
Dr Amir Shahzad
From Islamabad and allied areas
Dr Noor Asi
Dr S Furqan
Dr Javed Akhtar
and others
The court heard all the Departments and the Doctors in detail ( from 1100 hours to 0300 hours - 4 hours long).
Details and outcomes of the hearing will be provided soon.
I request all the doctors from Pakistan to please forward their valuable comments , suggestions and if they have some documents to make our claim strong for awarding equivalency to DHMS, kindly share here.
