Creating Waves of Awareness

I am a homeopathic practitioner and have recently joined with a holistically minded veterinarian to do a house call practice for dogs and cats.  I have treated my own dogs and cats for years with homeopathy (even before I became a homeopath) as well as giving homeopathic treatment to many cats at a cat rescue shelter for the past 5 years.

I have been presented with a case of an 11 month old dog diagnosed with a luxating patella which in conventional vet medicine requires surgery.  I will be treating this dog based on the symptoms but wonder if anyone has treated this condition.  I am also interested in hearing cases with cruciate problems as well.

I hope someone pipes in with some replies.  I used to be a surgical tech/supervisor for small animals. We did many cruciates -- very long, involved and careful (and sometimes very frustrating) surgery.  I've not used Homeopathics for this issue but I'm sure that like other conditions, Homeopathy can certainly help, if not 'cure' ... as long as the correct remedy is chosen for the individual animal. It may be that surgery IS needed in which case Homeopathy can certainly help in recovery of the ligaments, muscles and tissues as well as the spiritual aspect of surgery and healing.

I'm disappointed that there were not other replies to this. :(

Diane -- do you have an update for us on this case?

Luxating patelllas and cruciates are fairly easy to manage and even cure with homeopathy. As always, need to focus mostly on the animal, not the condition. Only gels for patella and I've cured 2 cases with that. Cruciates are almost always the constitutional. Luckily the orthopedic surgeons (at least some) said we could try it for 3 months along with joint supplements (chondroiton/glucosamine/etc) before worrying about long term arthritis (which would not appear anyway if best remedies selected.

Diane - who is the holistic vet you are with and where are you? web site?

Dear Dr Chambreau ~ You may click on a person's image or name. Go to their page. Friend them and then send a private message. There is a tutorial section on the network where you can learn how to navigate around. Thanks! Debby
