What are some of the ways you, as veterinarians, (and Guardians, too) work in terms of preventative homeopathy? OR, is there even such a thing? Is Homeopathy merely a 'saving' medicine or can it be utilized to help prevent illnesses as well?

Hi Gwen. I remember many years ago hearing that physician of the orient only were paid when their patients were healthy. I'm not sure if this is fact or fiction, but it sure makes good sense. The incentive to be paid by having your patients remain in a healthy state could be a model for healthcare. And, I'd like to see this as 'life-style' education, rather than maintenance or suppressing disease symptoms with medications, which supports the pharmaceutical industry.
This said, I imagine it goes for both human health and animal husbandry. I appreciate all the thoughts you share with the community. I hope more members jump into your discussions. Hugs, Debby -

One of the best preventative measures is diet. Commercial pet food is highly toxic. Keeping the animal on a species specific, quality diet is, I feel, paramount in preventing disease.
The next thing is to listen to your pet. Learn their body language.
Then comes no medical procedures unless absolutely necessary. Even then...
Then comes a loving home, with freedom and space to be who they are.
Then comes good, energetic health care for the humans and other animals in the house.
Then comes a toxin free environment.
Homeopathy can surely pick up the little residue?

Amen and amen, Madeleine! Thanks for your comments. One of the BEST preventatives, IMO, is "loving home with freedom and psace to be who they are." ... think that would probably be most apropos for human 'kids', too, eh? *GRIN*
