What brought you to homeopathy? Tell your 150 word inspirational story that connects you to homeopathy. How has homeopathy changed your life?
My Journey So Far...
My tryst with homeopathy goes back to my childhood when a few visits to the compassionate neighborhood homeopathy would dispense these innocuous looking pills for minor ailments. As I grew up and started working very early in life (around 16) a grandfatherly gentleman would request me to buy him homeopathy remedies from the pharmacy. It was during this time that I bought my first book on Homeopathic Home Remedies. Although it did not help much in practice at such a young age, it created enough interest to meet and learn the principles of homeopathy from doctors who were very encouraging. Family financial compulsion meant that I continued to earn and learn. Joining a full time homeopathy college was beyond my means.
My foray into homeopathy ‘Big-Time’ happened in 1998 when I met a Jesuit Priest Fr. M. Joseph Britto who is a well-known naturopath and homeopath. He conducts courses to empower families to take charge of their health with the use of home remedies and homeopathy. After completing level 4 of his courses my conviction in homeopathy soared to a level that I have not vaccinated my two younger children.
I started being an active member of study circles and on-line forums. Also earned the tag as a ‘Good Prescriber’ as I started associating with ‘Homes for the Aged’ and treating the needy around. The universe conspired and I was lucky to befriend young homeopaths associated with stalwarts like Dr. Rajan Shankaran and Dr. Prafull Vijayakar among others. These homeopaths were a different breed, so confident that they allowed a layman like me to assist them in their practice and that contributed to by growing learning curve.
Some of my friends would say, that homeopathy is my hobby and I would retort saying it is my passion. I turned into being an evangelist so much so that I countered the Lancet onslaught (2005) on homeopathy with my article “In Defense of Homeopathy” in some leading publications and also on-line.
In Pune I have been again fortunate to associate with Dr. Nilesh Shah, a passionate homeopath and Asst. Professor Dept. of Surgery & Homoeopathic Therapeutics and also Principal Investigator AYUSH on Carcinoma of Breast who encouraged me to apply for Registered Medical Practitioner (RMP), which I subsequently acquired from Indian Board Of Alternative Medicines, Calcutta in the year 2009.
My training in Transactional Analysis and NLP helps me to use them as psychological tools to counsel and rid them of many ailments without any medicinal intervention.
Today, I devote my skills towards treating students with ADHD and other behavioral issues and also the Aged and Infirm ‘Free of Cost’ and touch people around me first by through lifestyle changes and in prescribing appropriate remedies when called for.
Check which applies. I . . .
Use homeopathy, include homeopathy in my healing practice
What is your vision for the future of homeopathy
Homeopathy is the solution to ensure low cost health-care solution.
A study by the Indian Planning Commission has, however, indicated that the lowest earning 20 per cent of the population spend about a fifth of that of the highest earning 20 per cent of the population on healthcare, whereas the difference in disposable incomes is far greater. Furthermore, the bulk of the healthcare spending by the lower earners is met by raising borrowings or selling family assets.
My vision is to along with like-minded evangelist to take homeopathy from being considered as an alternative system to being the first choice along with other holistic healing options. This will itself bring the burden of health spend by an average Indian.
It is also my endeavor to impress and pursue the health insurance companies to extend insurance cover to homeopathic treatment as this will contribute to lower claims, higher profit for the company and in long-term a more affordable policy for the citizen.
Why I would like to join this network?
I want to promote homeopathy, I want to meet like-minded people, I want to advocate for homeopathy, I want to join a local community of homeopaths, I want to be involved with the homeopathic community at large
Write detailed background to introduce yourself. What school did you attend? Year of graduation? Degree or diploma? Where do you practice?
RMP License from
- Alternative Medicines, Indian Board Of Alternative Medicines, Calcutta, India.

Diploma in Business Management - Nagpur University
If you do not have an reference so that we can verify your homeopathic status, please send a copy of your homeopathy diploma and association certificates to HWCmembers at gmail dot com
I have a HWC member reference, My interest in psychology earned took me through various school of thought and this journey I must say has ended with Homeopathy wherein I not just learn human behavior but also have a solutions to cure the ailments these personalities are prone to.
I am wiser :)
What are your interests besides homeopathy? Inquiring minds want to know.

I have been advocating the need to impress on insurance companies the benefit of encouraging  people to first consult 'Alternate Medicine' practitioner before seeking the conventional medicine treatment.

Papaya for Chikungunya and Dengue (Adapted from an email forward)

Posted on September 20, 2010 at 6:00am 3 Comments

Ya, ya, it’s the papaya to the rescue

This would go down in my imaginary diary as the week my faith in pharma and doctors died. And if you are thinking this is about Dr. Oscar Rebello, you would be wrong. At the risk of sounding like something out of Harry Potter, it’s about the Papaya Leaf and the Platelet Count. Because there are those of you who say, tcha, who’s going to read this rubbish till the end, in brief it is this:

If you or anyone you know has dengue or chikungunya or… Continue

Hi Valerian,

I answered (partially) your mail request and hope to be in India by early November or December.
As for guidance to come to practise full time, there are factually so many here to help you discover more about homoeopathy that it would be impossible to mention all in such a small space as an answer box.
Luckily i am not the only one! I hope you take full advantage of the many excellent homoeopaths here at HWC. There are many very interesting threads here and excellent blogs. hard to pick any and i suggest to read through those that are considered most popular. Enlightening website!

Warm regards,
Kaviraj.
