Thanks for the links. I visited two of them, but the third, "creating our universal definition of homeopathy" was not working. I did see that Manish is in agreement with me in equating health with freedom (and, therefore, illness with restriction,…

It is good to feel welcomed. And I appreciated your quote--may we all be wise enough, if not old enough, to be willing to turn the page. I have, in my time, belonged to many different homeopathic groups. I even founded one and ran it for fifteen ye…

I agree with what you say, and yet cannot help but feel that the moment of separate grassroots efforts in individual nations has come and gone. The internet gives us the perfect technology that can be used for the sake of the preservation of the pri…

They would well know the word "homeopathy" anywhere in the USA. What they would not get are the jokes about dilution, etc. Most Americans confuse the word homeopathy with the word holistic and use it in any number of incorrect ways--as if they were…

Mitchell and Webb are wonderfully funny, as was the skit. I would think that the appropriate thing to do is to laugh. Anything else seems as if you are huffy and have no sense of humor. Even the most devout must be able to laugh at themselves. And,…

Hi Dr Paul, Thanks for starting this thread. Problem is, I don't see anyone willing to define themselves as a mongrel homoeopath! To my mind also, the true homoeopathy practitioner does not need super-powers, 6th sense etc. If a method dictates tha…

What brought you to homeopathy? Tell your story here.
I was already working in alternative medicine, and was looking for a method that offered deeper healing. The rest was pure coincidence (if you believe there is such a thing) as I really had no clear idea what homeopathy was until I actually started studying.
Check which applies. I . . .
am a homeopath
What is your vision for the future of homeopathy
I'd like to see homeopathy take its rightful place as a major healing modality in the world today.
Why I have joined this network. . .
I want to meet like-minded people, I want to join a local community of homeopaths, I want to be involved with the homeopathic community at large
What is your background? It can be other backgrounds & careers. Prof. Degrees? You may direct people to your blog.
I've been working as a Classical Homeopath for 6 years now. I studied a 4 year course in Tel Aviv, and then studied Hahnemann's Advanced Methods with David Little through his online course. I've been working with these methods for 6 years now and am very happy with them.

I've also been teaching Classical Homeopathy privately for several years.

I'm especially interested in Boeninghausen's methods, both in terms of case analysis and in terms of the Therapeutic Pocket Book. George Dimitriadis' books have been very influential for me in making this amazing method more accessible.
How has homeopathy changed your life? Take a moment to think about your answer.
Homeopathy has restored my belief in magic! To see ailments improve within minutes, hours and days when doctors have predicted months or more of pain and lack of function is probably the most rewarding experience anyone can have.

Not every case goes like that, but the knowledge based on experience that it can happen keeps me motivated as a homeopath and as a human being.
What are your interests besides homeopathy? Inquiring minds want to know.
I'm a very amateur stand-up comic, and am also involved in music projects. I'm an avid Terry Pratchett fan, and read almost anything else as well.

My Websites:

At present I have two websites:

www.jerusalemhomeopath.com - this website is more for the general public. It describes my practice, and also contains some description of homeopathy and links to useful videos.

www.materiamedicastudymethods.wordpress.com - this website is for Homeopathy students and homeopaths. It includes methods for studying materia medica, articles I've written (including some Jahr charts that I did recently), the Organon Blog and more.

Spoof on footnote to Aphorism 260 - can you find the references?

I'm putting this up here - it's also in the group discussions for Who's Reading the Organon (radio show co-hosted by Debby Bruck and myself that airs most days at 12 p.m. US Eastern Time), and it's on my Organon Blog.

Hope you have fun finding the references!

Organon-Aphorism 260 - what's wrong with reading in bed?

Seriously - reading in bed comes under errors in regimen listed in the footnote to Aphorism 260. So I ask - what's wrong with reading in bed?

Some ideas that come to mind:

- The book could fall into your eyes if you fall asleep
- The book could smash your glasses if it falls on your face when you fall asleep (if it's a heavy materia medica tome, that is)

or more seriously:
- you can land up reading through the night instead of getting much needed sleep (been th… Continue

Is anyone familiar with the guaifenesin protocol for fibromyalgia?

I'd like to know if anyone has come across side effects from long term use of guaifenesin within the framework of Dr St Amand's protocol for treatment of fibromyalgia - any input welcome!

Vera

Descending potencies

Debby and I discussed this briefly on the radio show - does anyone out there use descending potencies? I'd be really interested to hear more about this. It seems to make sense in a way, patient needing less and less of a remedy as healing progresses, but I tried it a couple of times and didn't feel it was going anywhere.

I did hear once that some people use descending potencies in that they start treatment with a very high potency - 10M, 50M, etc. - and then they reduce to low C potenci… Continue

New free Skype tutorial on proving symptoms

Hi,

I'm planning to open a Skype tutorial on working with proving
symptoms. I've developed a method for working through the symptoms,
which is what we'll be studying during the tutorial. At present you can
see a full description of the approach and instructions for the method
on: http://materiamedicastudymethods.wordpress.com/proving-symptoms/.

The tutorial itself will be free, but y… Continue

dear Vera !
i am just hearing you at the radio - thank you for the lesson.
checking your profile I see that you are influenced by David Little too. that is the reason for asking for a "friend" status.
we could make a David Little fan club ;-)
maybe we can start a discussion about some of his themes to give him more publicity?
regards

Hi Vera.

I do have a practice. I do use medicinal solutions, and work from the 6th Organon. However, I also incorporate gemmotherapy, oligotherapy, tissue salts, organotherapy, and whatever else I need to.

I also have family in Israel - Holon, Ashkelon, Tel Aviv, and Alfae Menashe. I have a friend in Katzerin. I'm planning to come, God willing, in June to volunteer for a couple of weeks with Tzahal. I'll let you know.

Dear Vera,

Thank you for connecting with me.

I had a look at your site and very much like your writing style. Mind maps are great tools to work with. The method is not taught here - but it should be. I am an artist, and a visual learner so, of course, I love to do the pictures.

I'm still studying David Little's HOE....slowly, taking my time, longer than I thought it would take me to get through. I love his course though. I think he is brilliant. I once asked if it was possible to preceptor at his clinic but he is busy writing. Too bad. I would like to go to India to study homeopathy in a clinic.
One day...In the meantime I think that we are so blessed to be living in a time where we have access to the world, and to each other.

Welcome to HWC.

love,
Marilyn
