My Reply To A Critic Of Homeopathy

Recently, one of my friends in facebook messaged me about an anti-homeopathic blog, posted by a reputed person from Pakistan. After going through his blog, I immediately emailed the following message to him:

Respected sir,

I have just gone through your one sided article against Homeopathy (A system of medicine that is saving millions of people since many years). Why homeopaths are there in every corners of the world? Why people come to us? Are they fools to visit us even with…

New attack on homeopathic research

Friends,

One of the websites that is FULL of "medical fundamentalists" is called Science Based Medicine. One of their doctors just wrote a critique of a homeopathic study on COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease):

http://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/?p=5978

You will note that the author mentions me personally, and then, he goes on to prove his ignorance of homeopathy and to verify his extreme…

NHS in UK still supports Homoeopathy

Most of the news papers say that NHS in UK has decided to stop funding Homeopathy. But the actual fact is, a committee that includes some skeptics has suggested the government to stop funding Homoeopathy.

This is the time to react.

1023 publicity stunt just proves again they don't understand homeopathy

The UK 1023 'mass overdose' on January 31st was a publicity stunt that only served yet again to show how ill-informed this group is about homeopathy, and how it works.

The videos that are posted online showed small groups in various UK cities earnestly doing their ‘bit for science’.

But where do these people get their information? Who up the chain of command feeds them lines like: “When they make a remedy they dilute it and dilute it until there is nothing left except water… Continue

Dr Evan Harris, Evidence Check video 1023 London Event - urgent action!

Dr Evan Harris MP, Liberal Democrat Shadow Science Minister and member of the BMA Medical Ethical Committee since 1999, sits on the Science and Technology Committee carrying out the Evidence Check on homeopathy. By his own statement to the committee he has also worked with Sense About Science on numerous issues and 'has argued with Ben Goldacre many times over the years." One might wonder who put forward the witnesses for the Evidence Check, which included Tracy Brown, Director of Sense About… Continue

Homeopathy Under Attack! by Robert Medhurst. Brauer Dispensary News May 2010. Tanunda, S.A. Australia

Most sincere thanks to Robert Medhurst for the following work :)

HOMEOPATHY IN AUSTRALIA

2009 has been a very busy year for attacks on homeopathy. We’ve had visits from people such as Dr Simon Singh, noted UK science journalist and critic of homeopathy, who was reported in just about every possible print and electronic media here as saying categorically the homeopathy doesn’t work.

We’ve had… Continue

An Evidence-Based Response to Skeptics of Homeopathy

An Evidence-Based Response to Skeptics of Homeopathy

Introduction

I was an electrical engineer prior to entering alternative medicine and, in fact, I turned down my acceptance to a conventional medical school (which I had previously been very much hoping to attend) on discovering naturopathic medicine during the applications process. At that time, I had no knowledge of homeopathy, however, but was really into the gym and nutrition, and felt that I wanted to be in a…

Response to "1023" & the skeptics (the "denialists")!

Skeptics (who I prefer to call "denialists") may be concerned about how few molecules there are in homeopathic medicines, but I am much much more concerned about the incredibly HIGH number of molecules there are in conventional drugs!

I calculated the number of molecules of common drugs that people take on a DAILY basis.

For Zoloft (setraline), the average daily dose has 1,091,963 to the 23rd power # of molecules.

For Paxil (paroxetine...formerly the #1 most… Continue

Leading skeptic, James Randi, is skeptical about global warming!...& he's embarrassing other skeptics!

Friends,

Well, it seems that the magician JAMES RANDI is not just skeptical of homeopathy and various alternative therapies, but he is even skeptical about global warming...and THIS is now embarrassing him and his fellow skeptics.

Us versus Them

Previously I mentioned one arm of the campaign against alternative medicine: the ongoing public relations campaign that plants slanted articles in the media. The second arm of the campaign is the pro-science community. This community enjoys attacking anything that they think is anti-science. Intelligent Design is one of their targets and, unfortunately, so is alternative medicine. What's evident here is the "us versus them" mentality. I believe this mentality is the most destructive force in… Continue

The Campaign Against "Allopathy"

Since I compile a list of news articles about homeopathy, I am often directed to skeptics' sites, where they campaign against it. You and I have heard most of their arguments by now, But recently I was surprised by their campaign against the term "allopathy." It seems they think (or act like they think) that the term is abusive and inaccurate. This article by Walter Jarvis is typical:

Although medicine never accepted… Continue

V for Vendetta

The blog world is fueled on outrage. And the latest outrage among bloggers with a skeptical bent is the Huffington Post's advocacy for alternative medicine. If you've never heard of it, Huffington Post is a web news site with a liberal political slant. The site has also given space to alternative views such as articles on vaccine damage by Robert Kennedy Jr. and alternative treatments for swine flu. The zero tolerance policy of skeptics will not abide any talk of alternative medicine in their… Continue

Sir John Maddox RIP

Sir John Maddox, former editor of Nature, died April 12. He was editor during the "Benveniste affair." He first published Benveniste's paper on the action of infinitesmal doses on mast cells and then sent a team to Benveniste's laboratory to debunk him, publishing the account in the next issue of Nature.
