Creating Waves of Awareness

Arnica has saved life of four people who were lying unconscious in hospitals after head injury even after three days. They gained consciousness just after four hours of treatment.

Homeopathic Treatment of Mild Traumatic Brain Injury:
A Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Clinical Trial

A study conducted in 2009 showed that homeopathy stimulated significant improvement in people with traumatic brain injury, even though that injury may have happened many years previously.

The treatment group, once classified as having mild traumatic brain injury, entered into the study from the recommendations of therapists and neurologists. Chronic  symptoms of head injury like short attention span, slowed thinking, reduced ability to learn and process information, headaches, fatigue, sleep disturbances, impatience, frustration, confusion, poor judgement, depression, mood swings, blurred vision, and vomiting were found in these subjects.

The treatment group reported significant improvements especially in being able to: understand technical or work-related information, follow instructions, read newspapers or novels, do housework, and socialize in small and large groups. Some, who had been unable to work for years, were able to return to work.

  • "Our results suggest that homeopathy—alone or used concurrently with conventional pharmacological and rehabilitation therapies—may be effective in treating patients with persistent MTBI, a clinical entity for which current treatment has limited effectiveness. The limitations imposed by the design of this pilot study, including the number and potency of homeopathic medicines and duration of treatment, may have led to an underestimate of the actual benefits of homeopathic treatment. Further exploration of homeopathy’s role in the treatment of MTBI is needed, including basic science studies to define the mechanism for the action of homeopathy. The results of this pilot study warrant a definitive clinical trial with a larger number of subjects, a longer duration of treatment, and use of the full complement of homeopathic medicines."

  • "Our compromise to use only 18 medicines in a single potency (200C) may have reduced the effect size of the treatment. "

Dear Dr Shahnaz,will appreciate if you can expand on the story. What were the circumstances that brought these four victims of trauma to a hospital and how you came to know the story or if you were in any way involved in their treatment.

Dear Wequar

I have used Arnica many times in similar circumstances after injury and unconsciousness where a traumatic blow to the head was involved.

One particular case in slightly different circumstances stands out in my memory. It was my own mother who suffered a stroke and was in a hospital unconscious for 3 and a half days. I flew back from India and arrived on the third day to see her. After thinking about it, I gave Arnica 1m in water 2 doses 30 minutes apart. Within 60 minutes of the 2nd dose she awoke from her coma.

i cant remember the next remedies I administered but she went on to live for another 6 years until system failure intervened. She was only 53 when the stroke occurred.

Why arnica and not something else? well, if you read the symptoms of Arnica, you will see how the symptoms of stroke
* Muscle weakness in the face, arm, or leg (usually just one side)
* Numbness or tingling on one side of the body
* Trouble speaking or understanding others who are speaking
* Problems with eyesight, including decreased vision, double vision, or total loss of vision
* Sensation changes that affect touch and the ability to feel pain, pressure, different temperatures, or other stimuli
* Changes in hearing
* Change in alertness (including sleepiness, unconsciousness, and coma)
* Personality, mood, or emotional changes
* Confusion or loss of memory
* Difficulty swallowing
* Changes in taste
* Difficulty writing or reading
* Loss of coordination
* Loss of balance
* Clumsiness
* Trouble walking
* Dizziness or abnormal sensation of movement (vertigo)
* Lack of control over the bladder or bowels

resemble the effects of being struck hard on the head.

Gary thanks
It has embellished my knowledge about Arnica; Normally on head injury NAT SULPH is considered the preferred remedy.You can shed some light on the usage of these two on head injuries,and add to our knowledge.

Today i am thanking Walt Disney,who through Micky Mouse introduced the concept of cartoon characters whether they be human animal or even beings of another world.

These cartoon characters are able to leave a lasting impression,through their speech and gestures.Wal-e,Shrek and many others are "living" examples;Not to forget "Tom and Jerry"

The recent trend of lecturing on the subject of Homeopathy on its different facets are really a very powerful way of getting across the message in its correct perspective in lighthearted manner.

I must give credit to Debby(science and scientism)and Gary for enlightening us with such cartoons. Keep up the good work,and spread the message of the power of Homeopathy
