Creating Waves of Awareness

I have a friend who was suffering from Asthma since many years (1985 to 2000). It was so severe that many times, during middle of nights, he was carried to the nearest hospital for emergency treatment. He had variety of treatments and had no relief at all. After retirement, about ten years back, he started to consume Tulsi leaves, [Holy Basil leaves] not as a medicine but he just thought that tulsi leaves are good for health. In his house, the family daity' is garlanded with a small Tulsi leave garland. He used to take this garland out in the evening and used to separate the leaves to chew them. After about six months, he found that recurrence of his asthmatic attacks were less and far apart and eventually the attacks were very rare.

To this day, he had no recurrence of severe attacks. [from about year 2000 on wards]. To this day he chews a few Tulsi leaves every day. He says I am convinced that I am really cured of this problem.

Tulsi leaves are taken as home remedy along with pepper and salt for throat sores, cough etc. in India as Grandma remedy.

A wonderful case and I was amazed at the result. (This was before I started reading about homeopathy.)

  • Respiratory Disorders: Tulsi, apart from curing viral, bacterial and fungal infections of the respiratory system, gives miraculous relief in congestion due to presence of components like Camphene, Eugenol and Cineole in its essential oils. It is very effective in curing nearly all types of respiratory disorders including bronchitis (chronic and acute).
  • Asthma: Tulsi is very beneficial in Asthma as it relieves congestion and facilitates breathing. The Phytonutrients and the essential oils, with help from other minerals in it, helps cure the causes of asthma also.
  • Lung Disorders: The compounds like vitamin-C, Camphene, Eugenol and Cineole present in the essential of Tulsi do not only cure the infections in lungs but also cure congestion of the lungs. They are also found effective in healing damages caused to the lungs due to smoking, tuberculosis, lung cancer etc. It also helps cure tuberculosis due to its anti biotic properties. Source

Ocimum Sanctum Is a wonderful medicine for URTI too. It is a very fast acting medicine, it shows results in hay fever too.
Headache heavy, throbbing pain, as if nails were driven into it, relived by pressure; giddiness worse while walking, better by wrapping up the head; heat on vertex better by pouring cold water over there and fanning.
Eyes  :Pain, redness; lachrymation of eyes due to nasal catarrh; ophthalmia, mist before the eyes when fixing them on something.
Ears : Noise in the ears; loud sound appears to be very painful. Watery discharge from the ear; offensive pus from the ear; shortness of hearing; hot flushes in the ear.
Nose : Nasal catarrh associated with sneezing; white or yellow discharge from the nose; nostrils ulcerated; epistaxis.
Throat  : Pain in the throat with difficulty in deglutition. Pain while coughing, hoarseness.
Fever : Excellent remedy in influenza and fevers associated with cough; acute pains in the body; bone-pains; soreness of the muscles and terrible headache; typhoid fever with chilliness; burning sensation all over the body; delirium; drowsiness and comatose condition.

The symptoms belong to sanctum or canum?

thanks so much for this simple nice tip!!

I haveprescibed basilicum often [temporarily][sleepless] as a sedative and against nausea [together with cloves] as a tea.

Will now advise it to asthma patients as well.
