Creating Waves of Awareness
UPDATE ON THE MAKING OF A MOVIE: LETTER FROM BLIND DOG FILMS
MAY 2, 2012 - NEW ENERGY
Having just returned from the National Center for Homeopathy's international conference, I am reinspired and even more determined to get this film completed and out into the world.
PLEASE HELP US MOVE IT FORWARD!
NEW TEAM MEMBERS
We have some new people on board. The very talented Niamh McCormally has joined our team as an associate producer and her husband Andrew Hopper generously offered to make our new three minute "sizzle" reel! Please check it out HERE.
IT'S ALL IN THE STORY TELLING
We are ready to hire a professional editor to help us go through the 100+ hours of footage. Three months of editing will give us a rough cut of this film!! We are also in the process of hiring an animator.
PASSING THE HAT-- ONE DOLLAR AT A TIME
An editor costs $2000/week. One minute of animation = $10,000. Filmmaking is expensive! Your donations have gotten us this far and your continued support will enable us to complete this film. One week at a time. One frame at a time.
Please donate whatever you can. All donations are tax deductable, and anyone who donates over $500 will be listed in the film credits.
OUR NEW BLOG ON TUMBIR.
We are now on Tumbir. Please check out our Tumblr blog for all the latest updates!
Here's The Deal

Below are the two stories we plan to follow:
Ingrid Schutt, a well-known homeopath, lives in Montreal. Her recently deceased father was Haitian and lived in Haiti. Ingrid is returning to aid and connect with her community in its devastation. We will follow her from Canada back to Haiti to treat patients and help set up an orphanage in her fathers home.
Homeopaths Without Borders (HWB) We will document their daily operation and care of a variety of patients. HWB plans on setting up a permanent homeopathic clinic in Port-au-Prince. They have already treated over 2000 patients in Haiti.
This is an important part of this film – to show how homeopaths often travel to disasters areas around the world to volunteer their services. It will also show how homeopathy can offer inexpensive and immediate healing in emergency situations.
We are hoping to raise funds to cover our costs for this trip. (And, if we get donations quickly, we might bring down more crew!) By donating, not only are you helping the film project, but are also helping to support the economy in Haiti.
Here is what your money can pay for:
Three plane tickets to Haiti $750/each Total: $2,250
Baggage fees $60/pp Total: $180
Local Driver in Haiti $50/day Total: $300
Local translator in Haiti $100/day Total: $600
Hotel for crew $75/day Total: $450
Meals for full crew/Cook $50/day Total: $300
Camera person $150/day Total: $900
Sound person $100/day Total: $600
Camera package $500/flat fee Total: $500
Sound equipment rental $300/flat fee Total: $300
This budget does not include producers fee.
Grand Total: $6,380
AS YOU CAN SEE – EVEN SMALLER AMOUNTS REALLY MATTER! We are grateful to be telling this story and we are truly thankful for all your support. Click here to donate. All donations are tax deducticle. All donations of $500 and over will be included in the credits in the completed film.
Please check our blog for updates on this trip.
Sincerely,
The Blind Dog Films Team!
