Homoeopathy has many brilliant cures to it's credit right from the days of Hahnemann. Homoeopathy can boast of producing the stalwartness like Boenninghausen, Kent, Lippe, Guernsey, Allen, Nash, Boger, Clark, Hughes, Burnett and many more. Also, in the modern era, we are having many eminent Homoeopaths, who are rendering their services to the humanity for its better and sound health.
Each day we find many cases being treated successfully by Homoeopaths where conventional methods of treatments failed.
But, unfortunately, even today, all the cases which we take are not completely curable. This is despite our best efforts. What can be reasons for such failures?
There are various factors responsible for this, and some of which are as follows:
1. Extreme weakness of the vitality, which either fail to react or harmfully react to the stimulus of similimum.
2. Lack of therapeutically dependable characteristic symptoms. This again may be due to irreversible weakness or vitiation of the vitality, by the disease itself or due to prolonged inappropriate treatment, disabling the vitality to manifest it's symptoms. Further it may possibly be due to the lack of adequate vigilance and perseverance on the part of the physician.
3. Though we have a vast Materia Medica at our disposal, yet we can't claim it to be complete, we may have to add more remedies, which we don't know today. And perhaps, we could hit the similimum, in case these yet to be discovered remedies were available.
4. Possible lack of genuineness and purity of drugs, or any defect in preparation and storage.
5. Shortcomings on the part of the physician. Viz, lacking in mastering the Principles of Homoeopathy and it's correct application, improper case taking, and allopathic way of thinking while treating the patient, etc.
6. The maintaining causes like unsuitable or adulterated food and drink, unhygienic environments, constant mental tension, worry and anxiety.
Beside these, which relates to true diseases and their cure, there are emergencies, due to physiological, mechanical and other external causes.
You may agree with me that proportion of incurable diseases are fast increasing, and part of it can also be due to unbalanced spiritual, moral, cultural and economic development along with ever increasing contradictions and complexity in the human society.
