Creating Waves of Awareness

Hello everyone,
This is a case of one of my very best friend, a Software Engineer
In Jan2009, he suddenly lost his voice
He ignored it for sometime, but later it worsen
By evening, he could not speak at all
Later there was problem to utter vowels
The Laryngeoscopy revelaed Left Vocal Palsy
He tried with the Speech therapist, but no improvement

As he searched on Internet, he said everywhere i got just one thing that Only and only Homoeopathy can cure this condition

I was very happy that even the world knows that we can cure anything which was once termed incureable

I took his case in brief
A Single dose of CALC-SULPH 200 is helping him till now
He can talk now properly
i can say its 40% improvement
Soon i will ask him to repeat his laryngeoscopy to see the actual change

I am happy i could help my friend...
Thank God that i m Homoeopath :)

Dear Everyone,
Thank u for the interest in my blog

Dr.MAS: let me answer ur query 1st
Causticum is a bold remedy
its just based on physical symptom

Dr.Jain & Debby:
In Dr.Rajan Sankaran he describes Calc-Sulph indicated for Indian males
In India there are lot of expectations from a male child
If he is unable to fulfill he goes into self contempt
This is the very state of my friend
His younger bro is M.Arch n his younger sis pursueing Medical
Both are very intelligent
My friend too was good in studies but was failing in one or 2 subjects every yr

Recently i.e. just before the complaint statred his younger bro got selected for a very high post at the govt office
also his salary is higher than my friend
My friend is not jealous but he wish he too could have done the same to please his father
he is afraid of his father

This were few points i selected CALC SULPH 200
He is still on that single dose
Its 90% improvement
Very soon i will post the video of his laryngeoscopy (before & after)

Wonderful. If your friend does not mind, we may be interested to know how you made this selection?

We can learn from you personal relationships and how remedies can help.

Dr. Gaykar,
Great work! When you post the video or write in a follow up, could you expand a bit further as to how you arrived at Calc Sulph so that we might learn from it? I don't think I could have arrived at Calc Sulph. I think of Calc Sulph as having a lot of yellow - discharges, tongue, etc. Abscesses and suppurations, complementary to Hepar Sulph and deeper acting. Aggravation in the evening, which this patient showed. Just wondering if there were any other physical symptoms or did you mainly go on the mental/emotional ones to prescribe?

I have studied with Rajan and was wondering if you applied his method in arriving at the remedy. I truly don't think I would have arrived at this remedy, given what I know. Would love to read further about how Dr. Sankaran describes it - is it in one of his books?

One reason I might have not considered it, unless there were other substantiating physical symtoms and more modalities, is that Calc Sulph does not seem to come up in the throat paralysis (calc does and of course caust, argentum nit, etc) or in speech and voice, voice lost. A remedy that I might have considered strongly for this gentleman might have been Silica since it does cover the losing of the voice and throat paralysis, plus it is good for students that are being overworked, people that push themselves and have fear that their mind is failing, which seemed to cover this patient.

TF Allen's Pure MM:
- Throat red and sore internally(twenty-second day), [_a1].
- Throat longitudinally inflamed in strips, like ulceration(twenty-seventh day), [_a1].
- Profuse expectoration of yellowish mucus from throat and right posterior nares (twenty-seventh day);scanty(twenty-eighth day), [_a1].
- Expectoration from posterior nares(fifteenth, sixteenth, seventeenth, and eighteenth days), [_a2].
- Pharynx very red and sore(twentieth day), [_a2].

and finally, Schroyens Synthesis:

Throat

THROAT - DISCOLORATION - redness

THROAT - DRYNESS
THROAT - INFLAMMATION
THROAT - INFLAMMATION - Tonsils

THROAT - MUCUS
THROAT - MUCUS - drawn from posterior nares
THROAT - MUCUS - thick
THROAT - MUCUS - yellow
THROAT - PAIN
THROAT - PAIN - swallowing
THROAT - PAIN - burning
THROAT - PAIN - gnawing
THROAT - PAIN - pressing
THROAT - PAIN - rawness
THROAT - PAIN - sore

THROAT - SUPPURATION - Tonsils

We might be able to note in our MM/programs that Calc Sulph covers - voice, lost or throat paralysis. So important to go witht he mental/emotional symptoms as our guiding force and not rely purely on the physicals.
Please keep us posted and add anything you can to this most fascinating case.

Thats amazing n shows how little we know about our medicines.i would have thought of calcarea on the basis of painless hoarseness but not calc sulph .do let us know the reason of prescription

Hi Nandini,
Calc cud have been the remedy, but his thermals is Hot

When we are sure of Calc element in our patient and his/her thermals is hot Calc-Sulph & Calc Flour are best suited
I consider thermals as a pointer coz its a General which represents the constitution itself
