WALKING AND REFLEXOLOGY, YOUR HEALTH INSURANCE WITHOUT PREMIUM.
Today there is a lot of emphasis on our health care system,but it is not being delivered to many who do not enjoy the luxury of good health insurance cover, specially in USA. In so called third world countries the meager resources and ill planning is taking the toll. .
In a small way we all can contribute to our own health by taking appropriate measures, such as improving our lifestyle and having balanced diet coupled with some sort of a exercise regimen. In my personal life I have been walking and doing yoga for past many years and found that we have been able to ward off many illness without resorting to serious type of medicine, such as antibiotics.
We as a family are sort of health nuts; Our food are also balanced from the point of view of what we eat and how we eat. More vegetables, fruit, more grain, lentil, pasta and of course our own Pakistan / Indian dishes which are made with healthy spices such as turmeric, garlic, coriander, bay leaf, cardamom, cinnamon and many others. Spices are added depending on the type of dishes that is being prepared. Occasionally we have meat and fish. We make effort to live a healthy life style and, of course, the habit of going to bed early, unless we have good reason to go to bed late. Once in a while we do enjoy junk food.
The reason for writing this blo article is to bring to the fore that health is wealth and that a little care can make all the difference to our lives. I may add here that we rely mostly on Homeopathic medicines for our health needs and seldom found the need to run to ER or any physician here in USA.
Walking has been the mainstay of personal health, and in recent times, I found why walking helps us to maintain our health and well being. All of us know from our ancestors that they also preached that walking was good, especially after dinner.
Some time back I was shown a video by my daughter and it sort of brought home how healthy it is to walk even for half hour a day and what benefits it adds to our lives.
<SEE VIDEO ABOVE >
The health benefits are great as you may have seen from the video, it reduces hypertension, takes care of your digestive system, stimulates your heart, and beside other things it reduces stress and uplifts your mood. I suggest that you hydrate your body with a bottle of water as you walk. It will keep your skin in good health.
How does walking help to achieve all the above benefits? It is natures gift that it has provided the mechanism in our soles and in the palm of our hands,
The benefits are transferred through what are called pressure points, through reflexology an ancient art and derivative of acupuncture.
See the above images how nature has provided “switches” in our soles covering all our organs of our body from liver to brain, from our eyes to our hearts.
Our palms have similar switches and when provided pressure as per rules of reflexology it will improve the working of those glands,which are governed by it.
Reflexology is a separate subject and knowledge of these points can be useful. When we walk these pressure points are being exercised and sending signal to the glands associated with each point making them active and healthy. As an example, pressure on the pancreas point will help the body produce more insulin and ward off diabetes.
It is now up to us how we can use this “ health insurance” without any premiums to look after ourselves without resorting to any thing else except your own will to help your self and your family.
Best of luck.
