Creating Waves of Awareness
We Use Different Names and Still We Are One . . . !
“What is there in the name?”
This common maxim holds true while debating over different terminologies which refer to one system of medicine.
We can apply this maxim to our pathy:
Read all these terms as one and the same.
Homöopathie for the German
Homoeopathy/Homœopathy for the British
Homeopathy for the American
Homéopathie for the French
Homeopatia for the Portuguese
Homeopatía for the Spanish
Homeopati for the Turkish
Omeopatia for the Italian
Etc. etc…
And for we Asians, especially Indians, it is written as Homoeopathy, but its pronunciation changes from place to place:
We Keralites call it “Hoomiyooppadhi”
For those who have mother tongue influence of Hindi, it is “homeopythi”
In other south Indian states, it is either “homopathy,” or “hompathy”
For the ordinary people in India, it is Homeo, Oomiyo, Homiyo, Sabudana goli, etc.
And for the kids in Kerala, it is "Pancharamittayi"(sugar candy)
Only the name changes, but the principle is the same – Similia Similibus Curentur
Lets be united for ever!
